Banhammer is not the way to go.

Dear 343,

You misjudged how to enforce discipline. I get that some players don’t like quitting/poorly behaved players and that the banhammer strikes down. I personally don’t care about quitting, betraying, etc. There’s a whole segment of the market that doesn’t care one iota about that. Banhammers should be used for players that are serious.

I posit 343 that you should let players pick whether they are competitive or relaxed/recreational. In the former, use the banhammer all you like, in the latter let the players do what they want - that’s how they see the game to be used - support that market segment. I’m utterly dissapointed in the approach you have taken - the banhammer is poor performance on your part and as it stands it will certainly prevent me from purchasing another 343 product.

Sincerely,

A halo enthusiast.

5 DNF’s today, 3 yesterday, 1 the day before.

Another quitter whining they got banned because they quit.

Dear An Irish Mob,

When you quit a game, you ruin an enjoyable experience for at least 7 other people (15 if big team). Please be more considerate of other people when you choose to start a game. Learn to finish what you start and realize that your actions can affect others negatively and therefore you deserve a negative consequence.

Sincerely,

Common Sense
