Just got booted from a game of grifball on “Bloodsport” after having 3 accidental betrayals. I don’t see how you can really enforce the banhammer in a SOCIAL playlist where everyone is swinging gravity hammers, especially on a map where your field of vision is skewed by the sloped sides. I really can’t help that my teammates lunge/spartan charge in front of me as I’m swinging at an opponent.
The banhammer has it’s place in halo. I just don’t think that betraying in a game that is full of spartans blindly swinging hammer should not warrant an 8:02 ban. The banhammer will ruin grifball…
Now that my 8:00 min is up I guess I’ll get back in the game.
yeah they should take out the betrayal booting
I thought if you were betrayed, a prompt would come up asking whether you would like to boot the betraying player or forgive him? Is that not the case anymore?

I’ve gotten the prompt a few times, but I believe the game auto kicks as well.
I’ve been booted by other players in grifball before, but I’ve never gotten the banhammer for it and I’ve played quite a bit of grifball. Just don’t want to see one of my favorite halo game modes ruined because of it.
Now just got a 49 min ban because my teammate booted me out of a grifball game in which I had the most kills and scores on the team. Guess I’m done playing grifball.
Dude, I grinded griffball for 8 hours on Saturday for first strikes (company finally got Achillies because of it) and I can count on both hands the number of times I betrayed someone. What are you doing exactly to keep killing your own teammates?
Yeah, they need to get rid of this in Grifball; it is too chaotic in Grifball to enforce a ban on players for betraying. Like you said, you’re swinging around hammers!
Most betrayals I get are when everyone is frantically trying to kill opponents near our own goal or when someone spartan charges towards the same enemy I am swinging my hammer at…I’m not the best halo player as seen by my CSRs and K/D, I play for fun and enjoy grifball. Fear of the banhammer takes the fun out of the game type.
Yeah, Banhammer in Grifball has gotten me banned a few times. Really, really aggravating. Turning off Friendly Fire will break it and invite -Yoink-, though. Need to just switch off Betrayal Boot and Banhammer.
Because seriously, you shouldn’t get a time-out for leaving a Grifball game either. Anything marked as a Social (anything unranked) shouldn’t have Banhammer active at all. It’s stupid if the only thing making it ‘Social’ is the lack of ranking.
Yeah the ban in that game mode is savage af yo
My one and only ban was due to grifball. I don’t play it anymore. Most of us aren’t grifball “pro’s” and are just trying to have fun. Betrayals happen. Bans shouldn’t.
The only reason I stopped playing grifball was because i would get kicked because my teammates would spartan charge in front of me.

Wish I could get this Prompt on many occasions but seems out of this and the Req system the game doesn’t like me hahaha
Yeah its a load of BS sometimes, I mean cmon, its griffball
