To whom it may concern: we.he been Halo freaks in this household over 10 yes now. My son was ranked and even finished second in an online tournament and never received any prizes from the tourney sponsors.
Last year my son 'John" got endocarditis. He was about 12hrs from dying all his physicians agreed. He had 18 micro strokes. His heartvalve was destroyed and he had a graphite one installed Oct. 2014. We have done without TV, cable,games and fun for a very longtime here.
For Christmas everyone pooled together $500 to buy Xbox one and Halo 5.
THIS IS WHERE THINGS ARE APOLLING. After day one of Halo play we awoke to a 2 hr. Banhammer ban. Didn’t understand it…read there reasons…assumed it was a fluke. Day2 _after the ban and playing several hours the next day we had another 2 hr. Ban. I called Xbox and we checked all internet speeds and such…I contacted my internet provider and did the same…everything works great. Day 4 awoke to 5hr ban. Day 5… A five hr ban. Day 6 a 20 hr ban. Day 7…a 2day ban. Here I am.
I am outraged studio 343 and Microsoft have no customer service for this issue. At this I am posting this in hopes someone with a soul at this company contact us immediately and remedy this problem for good. Our only other option at this point is we are trying to get a full refund for the Halo 5 and Xbox one game console. A church member suggested as we.re here in Seattle we contact customer right advocate Jessie from the news station and bring this to the attention of the entire northwest region. I am a longtime business owner and this lack of customer service is disgusting.
I hope to hear from someone from 343 that can work a telephone… To fiix this immediately. I.all update the status daily. Thank you.
Hi OP, do you know your son’s gamertag at all? If you can post it back I can check his service record and see if there is a reason for the ban. Generally when you get banned, it will tell you on the screen what it was for. Most common reasons are for quitting out of too many games, being idle for extensive periods of time or betraying fellow team mates
I went to your profile and checked your game history. Lately you seem to have a steady record. Only a few DNF. However. There were quite a few DNF in the beginning of your gaming history which would explain your bans. From what I can tell your game history looks a lot cleaner now so I am guessing your don’t receive bans very often at this point?
Gamertag is BirdFire Man an I have not quit out of any game I have been placed in? Dnf is the issue apparently, but I have not quit any game I have been placed in yet…! So something is going awry!!! Thanks 4 additional help…

Ah I didn’t realise it was this account you were referencing. As Farbror mentioned, there are quite a lot of DNF matches noted on your service record. It’s not really possibly to distinguish disconnects from quits as you can always close the game or switch off your Xbox, so this will also be treated as a DNF match. All bans are handled automatically as well as the system builds a case up against your gamertag for each quit / AFK (idling) match. It takes quite a few lot to trigger a ban, especially for one to hit 7 days in length. If you’re confident you haven’t been quitting then you must be disconnecting from the game a lot, have noticed that happening?
We have been disconnected once or twice a day. HOWEVER when we receive the disconnect notice…its ALWAYS after a game has been finished and we.re dropped for on the lobby. This is where an auto system can unfairly punish a fair player and we.be yet to discover why. We rewatched all the games BEFORE the disconnect notice and we have completed them. Its beyond frustrating.we.vve still received no help from 343… And we.re on the last 7hrs of a day ban. Its really sad they don’t have one technician who can help us. Words fail me…imagine you turn on Halo 5 next to!e to play and have a 12 hr ban…and you don’t hetrayquit or stand idle.you would get our plight then. We aren’t waiting out fair bans…we.re getting them everyday UNFAIRLY.
