Banhammer for Griefing Team...but how?

hey guys, just got my first ban for “griefing teammates”…but i dont get why? Had a fantastic game on team arena…no betrayals, no funny business…we won in a land slide…and then i got banned?

now the previous match i had a DNF…my teammates dropped on strongholds, they had a landslide victory going…so i attempted to jump to a far out ledge and ended up suiciding 3x and got kicked…was that the reason for the ban? Are they delayed sometimes?

thanks!

betraying… is hilarious!

its a bad trait of mine but I complain about teammates most of the game. Thats only because no one uses mics.

Ive been red rep for like 5 days now. Its bullcrap.
Microsoft/343 trying to play the daddy role and police xbox live. It ruins some of the fun. What happened to the days where you could trash talk? Now some kid will cry and report you, then boom you are banned now.
Trash talking is supposed to be part of the fun.

…and you have just illustrated why you are red rep and why most people don’t like to use mics.

So people who would actually like to use mics for communicating game related info and not have to hear you try to make yourself feel better by using offensive language or insulting people are babies? Yet here you are whining about being banned, according to the rules of XBOX Live you agreed to—like a baby. Hypocritical, not?

How about being a little more grown up and try to think of other player’s enjoyment, rather than just yourself? Just think for a moment “Gee, maybe calling someone a -Yoink- and saying something about their Momma might actually be detracting from their enjoyment of the game?”

Too many people nowadays think only about themselves and how they can do whatever they want—and then complain when someone else does the exact same thing but now it affects them.

Someone give this man a cookie ^

To answer the OP’s question, yes bans can be delayed a little bit, and yes, repeated suicides get counted as griefing. My guess is the logic behind that is because that looks like you’re intentionally harming your team and causing them to lose, which you kind of were, but since it was only you at that point, it didn’t really hurt anyone much.

Todays story moral:

Don`t kill yourself folks

Yeah i agree. I was unware of the rule on suicide…oh well, lesson learned, no big deal.

Trash talking is fine when it IS trash talking, trying to demoralise the other team is fine, but, calling them names, insulting their mum (mom), bringing their race, religion, sexual orientation into question is not fine, and it has no place on XBL or anywhere else for that matter, I’m not saying you do this, just trying to point out that some get confused about what is trash talking, I always say this, There is a HUGE difference between swearing with OR at someone.

Well you obviously did something

to avoid any one being offended in 2016 now a days, since every seems to be a hypocrite anyways on what is socially acceptable, just -Yoink!- the other team, it will piss them off more then anything you can say to them and you cant get banned for tea bagging

i just dont get what happened to the good ole days where no matter what you said the other ppl just had to deal with it. America especially has grown weak and developed a low self esteem, nut up and develop a tough exterior especially if its online when you cant even see the other person

Same thing to me i don’t understand I DONT EVEN HAVE A MIC???

I had a good round, was second place on team in rocket arena. I DONT HAVE A MIC. I DIDNT betray, I didn’t team kill… why the hell did i get banned?

343/Microsoft are horrible and have no control over the game they developed. I just got banned for Griefing my teammates and I don’t even use a Microphone. Seems like another bug that won’t be fixed anytime soon… After 9 years of Halo you’d figure these morons could fix the bugs that make the game less attractive to customers.

Please don’t revive old threads this one was dead for 4 months, also last I check they do fix bugs we encounter

With all the bugs in Grifball, this happens often. Lag on the lifts, spawn outside the court, or phase into blocks causing the player to continuously suicide will lead to griefing bans.

Since the mod isn’t up yet, you should probably take these complaints to official ban thread.
