After 45 games played over 4 days I quit out of 1 game and got BANNED FOR 3 DAYS!!!

No it’s odd I quit out of a game or two and never got banned… i was expecting to but nada
I didn’t just get banned for for 10 or 60 minutes. I got banned for 3 days! I doubled checked my record, it’s legit!

is there not like a set of rules with the ban hammer? I used to play lol and bans used to incease in severity by 15mins each time, is there a chart or anything?
if they made it public knowledge, what offences the banhammer detects and the length for which it is punished; would be very useful
3 days, Ha! At the height of my bad internet days I was banned for 7 days for successive disconnects. That being said I do feel bad for you if it is pity you’re after.

What you’re suggested is ridiculous. I’m not saying I’ve never quit a game before. But I was accurate in saying I played for 4 days, that I logged 45 games straight of completed games, that I quit ONLY ONCE and that the game banned me for 3 DAYS! That IS an accurate “story”. How about we talk about the almost 3000 games I’ve played where I didn’t quit? How about we talk about the fact that I’ve been a Xbox customer for more than 10 years and I’ve paid thousands of dollars to play this game and others? How about we talk about that my Xbox reputation is pristine? How about we talk about the fact that when I called -Yoink!- about this I was told there was nothing they could do and nobody for me to contact about it other than a message thread of Halo fanboy’s.

It sounds like the ban hammer is working perfectly to me!
OK, So what do you feel is appropriate? If quitting less than once per day on average…or 1% of games played…or whatever. What is the appropriate threshold for someone who’s played 3000+ games? How many days or games do I have to go before I don’t get banned FOR DAYS!!!?
Within Halo 5 matchmaking I have played 2700 games, have never quit, and only been the victim of a server disconnect 10-12 times since launch day. I have also never been banned.
The bottom line: don’t quit, and you won’t have to waste so much energy worrying about the “grace period” you deserve before you can quit again.

It’s all a matter of perspective. You definitely earn my respect, but back when I was in high school they weren’t offering college scholarships to people who finished an Ironman Triathlon. These days, I hear that there are about a dozen U.S. universities that do offer them, so that is certainly some progress!

“never quitting” isn’t possible.Microsoft has set an imposssible threshold. I generally don’t quit. I’m not going to go back through the thousands of games I’ve played, but I’ll bet you it’s less than 5%. So, are you saying that it’s reasonable to ban someone for days for quitting out of one single game over a 4 days period!?! We’re not talking about missing child support payments here, we’re talking about the rare and isolated quitting of a 10 minute video game! It’s ridiculous!!!

I didn’t just finish an Ironman, I’m a World Championships qualifier. Only the top 1% achieve that.

Yet, most of us have never been quit banned; impossible standard indeed. The majority of players can meet it and you won’t so you claim it is impossible. This stuff is supposed to go in the ban thread. You feel the need to whinge about the consequences of your misbehavior have a go over there. Either I or someone else will be along to respond shortly.

It was the end of the game and before the carnage report came up, it said my console disconnected from the server. Then a message pops up saying “Ive been banned for 10 min”
