Ok, so first post here, felt this was necessary.
I just got banned for quitting a match in Super Fiesta. Now I know the story, everyone is going to be like “well stealthym00se, you obviously have quit multiple games up to this point, its your own fault”, but if you look at my past games, I have never, no matter how terrible it got, quit a matchmaking game in Halo, apart from the occasional network/server disconnects (that happen to everyone). That last happened on the 7th of April in a Warzone match when I lost connection to the server (and I was not banned due to that).
I quit this match since one of my friends came online and I wanted to meet up with him, rather than just keep playing, since I had to be off soon. But after quitting this one match, I was banned for at least 5+ minutes. So the question is, why is the ban threshold so low, and when you do get the ban, why is it so long? Why does one match left count as an auto ban? If that were the case, tons of people would be banned all the time, 80% of the matches I have played have had someone leave at some point.
Maybe this is a thing for super fiesta or something, I have no idea. I just feel after almost a months worth of matches with zero problems, one quit should not warrant the banhammer.
Thanks for dropping by, never had any real problems with Halo up to this point, and even then it seems like something easily solvable.
Hi I’m The ban thread please feed me.

As nice as that is, it doesn’t really answer the question. I know how it happens and why, I’m not sure as to why one match out of 40 or 50 is grounds for a ban to be placed. But that is my thinking, doesn’t count for a whole lot! Also noteworthy is that I saw no timer when I tried to get back into any arena game (warzone still worked fine)

That’s because the arena and Warzone bans are separate if you get banned in arena you can play Warzone if you get banned in Warzone you can play arena
343 isn’t known for caring about the fans.

Good to know thanks. Any other ideas regarding the other issue though? Even just thoughts? I even tried looking at other “ban” threads to see if this situation matched up but I did not find anything, especially if it relates to Super Fiesta.
The ban system, how long you get banned and how long DNF’s stay on your record are a complete mystery. I got a less than 2 minute ban for grifball betraying, but nothing since. It’s a mystery only 343 knows

While there are so many comments I could make about how ridiculous your grievance is, I choose this one:
5 minutes is long?! Really, dude?! Get a grip and take the hint - DON’T QUIT! EVER!!!
I have no problem with a ban for quitters as it is probably the most frustrating thing about playing Halo. Just because the match isn’t going your way you quit (obviously not your situation, but generally speaking); totally lame! 343 doesn’t know that you quit so you could join your friend. Finish the match next time, THEN join your friend, and quit whining!!!
