The Battle-Rifle is getting out of hand with the lag lately. It’s like ZB most of the time
Just because the BR (or any weapon of that matter) kills you more often because of lag doesn’t mean that it should be removed.
You’re just going to have to deal with it, no one is going to remove a well-loved weapon just because one person is having problems with it.
I’m an AR guy … but the BR is clearly the better weapon and one I wasn’t particularly good with. So, I just went with “If you can’t beat 'em, join 'em” and honed my skills. I’m still not the best with it, but I can at least compete now.
Give the carbine a try. I like it better than the battle rifle mid range, maybe you will too.
The BR is fine.
The real problem is the lag, then, no?
Are you seriously asking the removal of a weapon from matchmaking? And don’t you think that if it’s “like ZB because of the LAG”, that the LAG would be responsible?
> Give the carbine a try. I like it better than the battle rifle mid range, maybe you will too.
Agreed. I like up close fights more, I’m an AR guy.
> Give the carbine a try. I like it better than the battle rifle mid range, maybe you will too.
This^
The Carbine is a beast.
I have zero BR trouble, it has less overall bullet magnetism than any of the other precision weapons, and gives you the fastest killtime in return. I’d rather have a weapon that misses headshots when a player messes up, than a weapon that headshots when the reticle is blue within RR range (DMR -_- god those days were horrible)
If you want slightly more consistency and the only killtime that keeps up with the BR at closer ranges (so long as you shoot first or out strafe a shot or few bullets), the Carbine is a must-try. The DMR and LR really aren’t optimal outside of BTB, where they dominate on the larger more open maps.

Yeah me to me to I’m a CQC player for the most part, I like the storm rifle the best. It’s more powerful than the AR but isn’t as good at mid range burst firing.
It won’t ever be banned.
But I do believe it needs a RoF nerf. It’s a bit too fast.
If you told me back in 2005 that in eight years you could start a game of slayer with two power weapons I would’ve laughed at you.
Now, when you can start with a BR and Boltshot that harsh truth has come true. The BR is simply ridiculous, I almost considered it a power weapon in H2 but it’s worse now. If you aren’t using a CC or BR in a 4 v 4 game, you’re going to have a bad time.
Of course, same goes for using a shotgun or scattershot or sword. You’re going to lose to the loadout weapon of the boltshot more often than not. How broken.

The BR isn’t that bad. I use AR and DMR most of the time. BR could use a small RoF nerf, a very small one, but that’s it. And I don’t see too many boltshots to be honest.

What? Its RoF was already nerfed when it was made a 4 shot kill on the last weapon tuning update. It used to fire much quicker, but now its kill time has been slowed down slightly to bring it in line with the Carbine, DMR and Light Rifle. All 4 now have almost similar kill times.

Imagine someone telling you back in the Halo 3 days that in Halo 4 you could spawn with a mauler (boltshot) and camo. People would legit think you were crazy. yet 6 years later here we are…
It needs a nerf, that much is certain. I thought it was pretty well-balanced with the DMR before the weapon tuning update… but now, it’s easily the most overpowered rifle in multiplayer.
> The BR is fine.
I agree.
The BR doesn’t need a nerf. Just because it’s better at mid-range than the DMR, Light Rifle, or Magnum does not mean it’s OP; it’s supposed to be the go-to mid-range weapon, and it’s supposed to be able to take on power weapon users if used skillfully. Having a viable weapon, one that you can use to effectively combat (but not necessarily overpower) other players, at spawn is core to Halo gameplay.

Agreed, the problem is it goes toe to toe with most AR users, and at times Shotgun.
