Ban system Problem - Urgency

Whoever moderates these forums… please fire it up the chain…

This a problem within matchmaking that needs urgent attention.

In thorough and concise summary:
Dear Sir or Madam,

There is a situation which needs attention within the sphere of halo infinite matchmaking.

I am a physician and in the hospital we employ the SBAR system for addressing problems. I will do the same here.

SBAR – Situation / Background / Assessment / Recommendation

Situation – In ranked (or social matchmaking), people either disconnect accidentally OR willfully leave the game. This results in a problem of uneven teams for the duration of the remainder of the game. Leaving games precipitates a banning from further matchmaking. In some cases this is warranted and in some cases this results in unfair and unjust penalties.

Background – Matchmaking matches even numbers of players to the match. When someone quits, this leaves one team with a disadvantage of being down a player. This is obviously an unenjoyable matchmaking experience.

Assessment – The banning system, which indiscriminantly bans players regardless of when or how they disconnect results in frustration for players who wish to play and compete honestly and fairly in the matchmaking process. Why? Because if a player has left my team in ranked arena; then I cannot also then leave the game without getting banned. Thus, I am either forced to complete the duration of the match outnumbered at a constant disadvantage OR I can leave and then subsequently get banned from matchmaking.

Recommendation – The banning system must be amended. Bans should apply to players to leave FIRST ONLY. Any players that wish to leave the game AFTER SOMEONE HAS ALREADY LEFT, should be able to do so without the penalty of banning. Obviously, whatever the ranking or CSR consequence must stand as is. This was a solution employed for Halo 5 ranked play. This should be again re-implemented for Halo infinite ranked play.

As a quick example, I have just left a game of ranked arena. Why? Because one of my team mates had already left. And what was the other team doing?..deliberately not completing the objective, just to continue to exploit their unfair numbers advantage. If I get banned, I will more than likely be remaining offline and out of matchmaking for the day…couple days … etc…

I hope this is clear as explained above.

Doing this will make the matchmaking experience less frustrating and more enjoyable for any honest, competing players in the matchmaking community, myself included.

You are welcome in advance.
