I would like it if 343i banned players from bringing in Guests to W/L CSR playlists. These are supposed to be competitive and promote winning/team work instead of selfish and bad play. Guests in my experience with every single Halo I’ve played (CE-4) are ,to quote a famous man in our beloved community, “Trash cans”. They are unreliable and ruin the experience 99% of the time for everyone that’s not their partner. Why add skill ranks based on W/L to have the playlist be more competitive only to allow Guests?
Halo 3 didn’t allow Guests in its ranked playlists which were based on W/L and for good reason. Please 343i do the same with your competitive playlists.
> Assuming all guests are “trash cans” is quite the elitist outlook…
Nothing elitist about it I usually don’t get mad at other players but Guests I do a lot of the time. I’ll be the first one to admit that occasionally a Guest is good and plays well, but that’s rare my friend. I’m talking wild shiny pokemon rare. Most of the time they are terrible and that’s fine. I don’t want them banned completely, that would be messed up. I just want them banned from playlists that use W/L to calculate your CSR and that are supposed to be competitive. Keep them in the “Social” playlists that use individual score.
> The problem is, they don’t have social playlists.
The playlists that use Individual Scoring to calculate your CSR are pretty much Halo 4’s social playlists and are easy to rank up in compared to W/L playlists. I’m asking they be kept in those playlists.
If you are a skilled player, your CSR will raise. 1 or 2 (or even ten!) games isn’t going to make a difference to your CSR in the long term. This goes for games where you feel slighted because of your views on guests, or because you had a Join In Progress game.
If players who bring guests in constantly lose, then they will down rank. Meanwhile you are playing other games and extending beyond their Skill reach - meaning you won’t be playing with them for long at all!
> This is incredibly short sighted.

Was it short sighted that Bungie didn’t allow Guests in Halo 3’s ranked playlists?
Like I said I don’t want them banned completely, that’s stupid. I just want them banned from what are supposed to be Halo 4’s more competitive playlists that use W/L.

A better solution would be to add social playlists.

Missed they point. Occasionally players are joined by a guest who performs poorly compared to its parent account. If you match with these guests on your team the game basically over-esteemates your team’s skill and you end up getting trounced in the name of the pair’s fun. This shouldn’t ever happen once let alone occasionally.

You’re pretending to understand how matchmaking works.
Just as occasionally, guests will perform just as well/better than the parent account. To say that guests are inherently bad is wrong.
The OP is a shining example; one of the guests top scores for the team.
My guest will beat your guest. And out perform you. I do better with my guest because he is legitimately better than most of the randoms I come across. So all XBL profile people should be banned because they bring my rank down.
Your argument is too flawed. The only playlist they should be banned from is Throwdown and also FFA ones.

Like I said not every Guest is bad. I’m glad you play with a competent player, but that’s not the case most of the time in my experience. Also why should they be banned from Throwdown but not the other W/L playlists? By that logic Bungie should have allowed Guests in every ranked playlist in Halo 3 except for MLG.
