I got online and accidentally clicked Breakout instead of Slayer, quit after the game 3v4, and am banned for NINE hours? I only quit because I accidentally chose the wrong game mode!
All of my other quits are due to being left with a team number disadvantage and I feel that the system needs to take this in account.
It’s really obnoxious that you get banned for leaving a game that everyone else on your team leaves and your left 4v1. I mean come one. You want everyone to have a good game excperiance but 4 on 1 is not fun. So then frustrated you leave and get banned for it. Just ridiculous! Maybe instead of banning people you should work on replacing players that have left a game with new ones. Then I could understand the ban for quitting a game. This seems to work just fine in other games. Might be the last halo I ever buy.
Also banned after one quit. I maybe quit one game a night (playing for 4+ hours each night). Banned every time. It’s gotten to the point now that my ban tonight is 20 flipping hours! Are you kidding me?! I only quit when lag is terrible or I get stuck in a 4v1… This needs to change. Not to mention I’m banned from all of Arena. Ban me from one playlist in Arena. Not the entire thing.

Yep same here, one -Yoinking!- quit and i got banned for 24 hrs last week. This game is in the shambles now, 343 has ruined it if you ask me.
I hear you man. I quit once today cause I selected Valentine double by mistake. Of course, instant banned for having too many quits due to 1v4. 20 minutes ago my game crashed during the middle of a war zone match. I restarted the game and started another war zone match. Again but this time I got kick out of session and the game took me back to the main menu. I was gonna try one more time and finally I got a smooth play through. Afterward, what do you know? Another banned. Extremely frustrating.
I’ll finish out a match and get to the cinematics and it kicks me and boom. Ban. It does this to me at least once a day now my ban is up to 8 hours!! 8 -Yoink!- HOURS!!! THAT’S SO DAMN STUPID FIX THIS CRAP!
Same, quit valentines doubles because my partner ditched me and left me 1 v 2 with clearly onyx players. Didn’t want to waste mine or their time so i quit. And i got banned. Absolutely ridiculous.the banhammer should give a pass on lop sidED games WHERE SEVERAL TEAMMATES QUIT. Its not even ranked for pity’s sake. Plus the game glitches you into games you don’t even want frequently and then you don’t notice. So you don’t realise you are in a lobby, play something else and then you lose rank cause you were supposed to play a game you didn’t ask for. Nice job 343. That was the only other “quit” i have had and yet i got banned for doubles? 343 that is not cool

Banning you in warzone? It doesnt even have a rank so it has little consequence when there is jip. That is just a load of blam.
To get a ban imposed, of however long, you must have been banned previously for quitting, as the system is incremental it first starts out with bans of just a few minutes. Bans aren’t handed out for quitting just one game. What the system does is build up a case against your gamertag each time you quit, AFK or bretray your team mates. Once you hit a trigger, the hammer will drop on you. The trigger itself could be your actions from one match, but it is not that match alnoe that caused it. It sometimes runs a game or 2 behind, which is why you can sometimes seem to be banned after winning a match.

I understand why it happens. I just don’t think it’s fair that it’s happening when I leave because I’m the last guy on a team.
Were the other disadvantages you faced losing a game, and that’s why you quit??
Quitting is quitting! 3 v 4 is so so… Still sort of manageable. But if its you left vs 4 I don’t really blame you. Perhaps they should be evaluated but sounds like you quit a decent amount when the going gets tough.
Like I suggested in one of my previous threads, I think they are going about this wrong and need to start rewarding players for continuously finishing games. If there’s a big enough incentive, then people will be less inclined to leave. Hell, I’d stop leaving uneven team games if this was implemented, as long as it’s worth it! Obviously, if it’s just a few hundred points, I’m not going to bother it.

I’ve been there before. It’s annoying. I’m not going to lie, I’ve quit my fair share of games but quitting once now getting you a ban is a bit much. What’s worse is today it decided I was done playing, left a game, turned off my XBox, did other stuff for a couple of hours, came back and then it decided to give me a ban. Luckily it’s only 42 minutes for now but still. Couldn’t have given me the ban before then? The popup shouldn’t have to appear for it to apply.
And now I’m banned for over 8 hours. The ban hammer is ridiculous in this game. 3 quits today(2 consecutive because I went in the SWAT playlist which means I want to play SWAT, not Swatnums) apparently means an 8 hour long ban. I want to help my spartan company with commendations and play the game that I spent money on and put time into but 8 hours is way too much. 343 copied their ranking system from LoL so why not copy their ban system? You can’t play until the game you quit is over. No more stupidly long bans for a couple of quits.
And now 24 hours for quitting 2 games of Warzone today. Both because I was getting spawn camped badly and the spawns weren’t helping any.

So now tell me what you do about the game dropping you after the cinematics happened and you finished the match. Then it drops you and you get banned cause this keeps happening to me. I had an 8 hour ban due to this issue keeps happening. Further more how does the ban hammer go down and stop adding on
