So I’m wondering, as the ball modes are all one game type, what interesting things could be done in custom games?
I’d like to see an assault varient crossed with an inverse odball, where holding the ball gives negative points but a large number of points for planting the bomb and with throwing the ball on. I’d be interesting to see how people would play a game that requires short bursts of possession, rather than holding it for a long time and taking a long safe route.
Since throwing the ball is a thing, I wonder if we could create a ‘Dodgeball’ gamemode…
I haven’t tried in customs but I remember back in reach or halo 4 you could set objective zones on vehicles and such.
So perhaps getting the bomb into a warthog by hijacking/getting in the passenger seat.
Maybe an ‘Easter egg’ hunt game type where randomly spawned balls have to be found , they wouldn’t have markers in them so it would just be finding them

You can recreate Indiana jones maps. You can create a new invasion esque mode by building maybe a large citadel in Forge and have one team be defence and one offense. And the attackers have to arm a bomb to progress into next area and so on. Lots of opportunities.
I’m interested to see if a ball game type is going to make it into Team Arena.
