Now this was a rare occurance. I was in a Big Team Battle and my entire team quit. Un-nerved by their loss, I decided to stay and fight “To the Last Man and the Last Round!”. This was on Hemmorage. (If you were hoping for a glory filled tale of how I slew them all, beating immpossible odds and getting all the amazonian women at the end you are sadly mistaken, this is real life). They had Wraiths, Snipers and everything. I was killed 24/7 for the remainder of the match, I was Spawn killed by Snipers, Reduced to ash by Twin-Wraiths, Splattered by Ghosts and Revenants alike, cut-down in a hail of fire and then T-Bagged until my body was flat level with the ground, this is no exaggeration it really happened. Hiding in the base, and caves was not an option, you were either blasted out or forced out by strength of arms, the Wraiths were even coordinated enought to continously bombard the exits so I couldn’t escape.
After this I realized this wasn’t fair and incredibly un-balanced (Who could have guessed!?). So in these kind of cases I think we should have the option to go into “Tank Mode” or soemthing that makes you incredibly powerful (I know about Juggernaught already, and thats a different story) and allows you to utterly turn the tables on the other team, becoming a major and devastating threat, that can wipe out the entire enemy team with an ease and effficency that would scare the Chief. What do you guys think? Given the extrordinary circumstances of a match becoming 1 versus 8, I think it would be rather balanced. Comments and thoughts below please.
Not some sort of spontaneous invincible lunatic, but say…300% shields, 200% movement, 200% damage.
Definitely good enough to get you some place to hide and not be disturbed, but obviously you’ll still get smited if you go in the open.
Better option altogether is just a forfeit option.
Rare occurrence?
Sounds fun, Im in, welcome to Waypoint.
Chaos building upon more chaos? I’m in…
Sounds awesome, I find myself in this position a lot, however I usually win because usually the team is behind kills by the time my team leaves, and I just pick people off, usually using stealth.
There are certain places you can hide that they wont ever catch you, for example blue base , where the trees are, there’s some rocks right in the corner. Or take jet pack and hide behind the metal wall that’s at the bottom corner of Red base. (You can actually fly over it and get into a position where the kill barrier doesn’t appear, it’s easy, just hug the wall)

My buddy with me doesn’t play Halo too often, so considering the competition it was 8-1
Honestly this is where the this topic on an updated quit-system would be more preferable to dragging out a game.
Though I must say, that game was probably only fun because it was Breakneck and not Headlong… I most definitely would have been screwed with a Banshee on the map
tbh, that would be interesting. If the person was skilled enough, that kind of power-up would drag out the game to be something interesting rather than a repetitive grindfest that bores everyone involved.
This happens all the time with me. Except I’m on the team that is spawn killing that one guy. If that happens, just quit. There’s no point in staying in a game if you’re just going to get repeatedly killed like that.
I have been stranded in a game by myself before, but most of the team were guests and sergeants, and we were already in the lead by 30 points when my team quit, so I managed to hold my ground.
Outside of the direction this topic has gone with improving the final player, I’ve been on both sides of this scenario more than once. When I have been on the dominant side, I’ve gained a lot of respect for the person still trying to finish the match. When I’m the “Lone Wolf,” I’ve simply switched tactics to hiding, avoidance and stealth. I still get trounced no doubt, but surviving gives this unique experience to matchmaking. Surprisingly, I have actually gotten thank you notes from opposing team players for simply finishing the game out.
