Balancing Issues

I know there was a tool added for matchmaking to fix unbalanced teams, but I feel it wasn’t enough. Balanced isn’t truly balanced and I know there’s also playlist population to take into account, but my main issue is matching against teams of 3 or 4 constantly. I’ll get put on a team that has no communication vs. a full team that can easily call out. That portion of matchmaking is heavily unbalanced. I’d rather match against other people that are also playing solo. For instance: If me and another teammate are solo, but our other 2 teammates are in a party, I want to match against something similar where 2 players on the opposing team are solo and the other 2 are in a party. It levels the playing field to where one team doesn’t have an outright advantage. I know this might just be me nitpicking, but I feel like it’s a real issue for some people that struggle playing solo against teams.

Well, if communication is one thing that causes an unfair advantage, then I really doubt that they’re gonna see that as a legit “issue” that needs fixing. Certainly, solos vs. solos feels fair, but there’s nothing stopping a bunch of solos from communicating with each other and giving themselves an “unfair advantage”.

The real problem is matching 4 pre-made diamond vs 1 diamond and 3 solo bronze. The “Balanced” option is the complete opposite of balance, I barely play any games that are even close. It’s either getting stomped or a walk in the park. I’m just sad because I love the gameplay but so many issues with the matchmaking system. Don’t even get started on quitters…

That’s true, but pre-made teams vs just game chat with one other person doesn’t make it anymore balanced. The point wasn’t solely communication but I see your point. Pre-made teams vs solos is just an awful time. It’s true you can talk via game chat but there isn’t a 100% chance you’ll find someone else that’ll respond to call outs and actually communicate back. I just feel it would be a little more balanced for people playing solo to match others playing solo, and the same for people on teams. Cause even if you use game chat with one or two other people, a team that’s played together before will have better teamwork than random people.

I also agree on that, true matchmaking needs to be a thing again. If you’re diamond, you should match diamonds; if you’re bronze, you should match bronze. The only problem would be player count. Depending on how many X ranks are playing at that time could make it harder finding a game. For instance - if someone that’s champion ranked is playing doubles at 1 am eastern time, there might not be any other champion ranked players in that playlist. So the person is forced to match with/against onyxs and lower. The only time balancing like that would work is if there are enough people of that specific rank searching for a game. I don’t see how you match bronzes while being diamond though, honestly, unless you’re playing social where rank doesn’t matter.
