The game is currently the most balanced it has ever been. Huge props to both Postums and Wrensi for kicking -Yoink- every day on HW2 and bringing our baby to this amazing point. Hopefully this is a key indicator (if there were ever another Halo RTS) that balance is crucial to playability of a game. Albeit the ranking/matchmaking system has its problems, the core fundamental gameplay is fantastic.
I’ve never been a 1v1 player in HW2 until recently, and I’m so addicted I can’t stop running my mouth and challenging people I shouldn’t challenge. It’s fantastic. Even though I’ve made nearly 1 video every day since this game launched, I have to say that I’ve never had this much fun on the game until now.
Excited for the future of balance and fun enhancements we’ll see down the road!
I just bought it and can’t wait to try it out. Never was into strategy type games but I’m gonna give this one a go. Glad to see it’s doing good and updates are actually helping out

I hope you have a great time! Campaign is long but fun, multiplayer has a large learning curve but its truly enjoyable once you get the hang of things

I’ll still play Halo 5 because I’m a Stat -Yoink!- and love to max things out, I’ll get a champion rank one day and in years I’ll get 152. I rarely get to play because of how much I work but I’m hoping this won’t be as much of a grind as halo 5 is. Just a month or two ago I picked back up halo 4 to finish the SR130 I was like a 107. So got them all besides halo 5. So I’d like a break every now and then and try this one. I sure hope I like it

Game is great fun, all we need now is a few more maps!!!
Loving how Johnson can finally get to shine properly in this current patch. With the nerfs to the Banished leaders and powers, it also gives the UNSC mains some love, too. Looking forwards to a solid round of gameplay with everyone out there!
I think Voridus’ Catacylsysm (Grammar police eat your hearts out) needs a slight buff against air. Most of his powers are only effective against ground except Infusion vortex T3. I mainly only use it in conjunction with Maelstrom and a Volatile Scarab. Also PRAISE GOD they fixed the logistics issue with volatile scarabs.
I don’t have Johnson but I do think his leader is still very weak. Extremely weak against vehicles. He should at least be good vs air, I think that would be a fair trade off seeing as he’s technically infantry.
I don’t remember this ever being discussed on these forums so I’ll reiterate it. Jerome and Douglas were proven to be only aesthetically different. I definitely think Jerome should do more damage vs infantry and vehicles while Douglas should do less vs infantry and more vs air. It doesn’t make sense cause I’m other halo games you could survive a rocket hit IF I got away from the impact on time, but spartan laser shots were always almost instant kills.
Would love to see a additional small cost increase for the beam, it’s a lot better now, but it trades to well in every scenario. A additional 100 supply and 50 energy should balance it, so you have a higher risk using it in the wrong time or way.
In addition I would also see a 5 % dmg increase for the shock rounds of the cyclops an other 5 % shield increase for the wraith and a significant health and dmg buff to the Vulture while it gets an y ability nerf.
The problem in early game for UNSC are the suicide Grunts, but I don’t think they should be nerfed to hard, cause you can minimize the dmg by splitting.
My dream changes which are gameplaywise super cool but a nightmare to balance would be an ODST upgrade and Elephant for Cutter, the shield sentinels from Spearbreaker for Anders, Cobras for Forge, a ultimate mech for Johnson like Anders retriver sentinel instead of his 12 o clock, sword elites for the shipmaster and so on.
More realistic but maybe never realized things would be a HW 1 map pack.

The problem with suis is they are killed as soon as you micro and are instantly killed by heroes early game. Marines in mid game are almost too tanky and late game Marines are unstoppable with infantry for Banished. I think the upgrade for suis need a buff but i think suis are fine except when against ship or arby use them, who love to teleport them early game into unsuspecting balls.
I too love this game as it’s current state. Can’t wait for the next W/L ratio of leaders towards the end of the season to see if more underused leaders will get more playtime.

The proof is in the pudding.
Think about a Jerome and a Douglas each fighting a vulture. Stop and consider that for a moment. A couple lasers and a couple rockets… Both vultures are destroyed. Who won? No one! They are identical. Some would use the word twins. I wouldn’t go that far.

That’s Jerome and Commander Jerome, not Douglas and Commander Jerome

Be careful with Johnson. He can get restoration drones level 3 before any other leader which basically means his army can be almost unstoppable. You can use his hero’s leader ability and nightengales to create a crazy healing war machine that can also turn invisible and run up to stomp on your army. Some of my buddies have been giving Johnson an honest try and I don’t think he’s that week anymore.

I would like to see a server fix or something like this. Disconnects and laggs which happen every few teamgames are pure cancer and keep me away for 2 seasons now. Tried it last season placement with a friend of mine , out of 10 games there were 2 disconnects 1 crash and so many lags that the timer had a difference of 70 seconds .
Every other games works great, hell even Halo wars 1 runs better.

I looked and searched but i think TeamRespawn took down their version of it. Here’s one I did find though. It’s purely chance in a head to head battle as to which one beats the other.
