Halo is a sandbox game, map and weapon control is key. While we may have custom loadouts, i’m sure it will not be as advanced as CoD. Everyone having the ability to spawn with a sniper or rockets doesn’t seem like something 343 would dare do.

I think balance will be a key issue with them. My personal opinion but depending on your class level, abilities level, and gun levels it will match you up with somebody just as equal to you.
Say you have an ability that increases shields by 20% well say somebody else has increase melee strength by 20% it would probably match you up with that person. I bet they will also have a vanilla halo playlist.
Would like to add I agree with the no power weapon start thing as well. Just basic weapon starts like BR, AR, and pistol.
For all we know, the loadout options could very well be an AR, BR, Carbine, etc. If the sandbox itself is balanced, it will be just fine. Never again will it be a war for AR or BR starts, it will just be some spawn with a BR, others with ARs.
Now perks or anything like that would be less than wanted.
So OP, you’re saying a game like Battlefield, CounterStrike or Team Fortress is unbalanced because of uneven spawning traits?

We don’t even know how things work yet. We know NOTHING about it, yet all you haters pass judgement already. Foolish if you ask me.
Expressing concerns: fine. But saying things like this is just stupid.
With proper design choices, different load outs and even “perks” (which might not even be perks like in CoD, but the “genre name” for such abilities simply is perks. Just like a “ball” might refer to a football (soccer) to Europeans etc, but to a basketball to Americans. It’s simply asositions that might make things look different than they might actually be in this case) can easily be balanced.
For instance, AL is unbalanced in Reach. But what if Reach also had the “shield drain” from H3 reworked to an EMP which would affect AL? You see how simple changes can create more balance in a system that was “flawed” at first?
Same goes for weapons, loadouts etc: it does not equal unbalanced gameplay. Not even remotely so.

More than likely, if they use their heads, everything will be customizable and not just a halo version of C.O.D i really don’t understand why they just wont simplify in the first place but they have to attract a new fan base even though they break the older fans hearts
Not all the older fans. This isn’t my original name because my other was banned from xbox but I’ve played every single halo game and love them to death. I don’t mind COD either. New game new direction. Let them make the game the way they want to.

What has always been a key strength of Halo?
Customizability. Almost everything can be customized. Do you honestly think there won’t be playlists where the loadouts only hold 1 option, where “AA’s” might not influence gameplay etc?
They need to attract a new fanbase, because the base of the old fanbase started out 10 years ago and are now at an age where gaming is taking a backseat to work, family life etc etc. So if you potentially lose half your fanbase just because of time not standing still, you NEED to recruit new fans. Besides: you can’t stand still against the competition in the market these days. You can not afford to act as if going back 10 years in time will earn you 10 million sales…

i’m getting halo 4 because halo is better than any other game i’ve ever played… best story line ever… requires skill in multiplayer, mystery, amazing visuals and audio, and halo just feels smoother

Did you play Halo Reach ? Everyone did not start off each round the same, and … guess what ? It was unbalanced. The whole reason MLG dropped it from it’s circuit.

Reach is on the circuit, I dunno what you are talking about
Frankly I think we need to thoroughly look over Loadouts and what we can do with it. I don’t even think we’ve achieved that much with them in Reach and we could be exploring this function more even now.
