Bad match-up and losing connection

Dear 343,

I am a huge fan of halo since Halo 2, I have played online matchmaking in every Halo games since ( I had several accounts). I don’t know how to begin, but since October 27th, I have been enjoying Halo 5 and played a lot of online Matchmaking.

Unlike several Halo 5 player, I do enjoy Spartans Abilities even though I haven’t masterized each one of them. I know Halo players always complains about everything you guys try to bring to the game to make it better. When Halo 3 came out, everyone was complaining about the power ups, but you know what, it only made the game better. So, I don’t want to complain about spartan abilities becauses it brings a new aspect to the game.

The other thing I like about Halo 5 is the Banhammer. Such a good idea! It keep the players who are not serious about gamng out of the game.

But Here is the point…

CSR ranking sucks. Sorry about it, I Personnally tough it was a good idea, that it was fair and well brough since there was a Beta almost a year ago, but since January 2016 season is out, the online matchmaking sucks.

First of all, the game keep lagging, in between each single game, it keep telling me that it can’t connect to server ( red screen) and brings me back to lobby. It’s pretty anoying since it makes the loading time twice as long each time.

Second thing, also a problem since the beggining of January 2016 season, CSR ranking is SO off.
1- I keep getting match with unranked players ( I am ranked since the beggening of the season)
2- I get outrageously poor match-up. I try, believe me to play in team with my teammates but it’s hard when they barely know the game! I keep playing +10, +15 but keep losing because i am match-up with guys that don’t know how to play the game. On the other part, sometimes I get match-up with guys that are my skills ( in my team) and we outrageoulsy detroy the other team. It’s sincerely not fun for them, but not fun for me too. The worst part is that the match-ups are so off that in every game there are some guys quitting becauses they are only dying and can’t win a single game. I tought I knew how the CSR Ranking system was working, matching you up with players your skills to make a competitive gaming. I know you guys don’t consider the plus/minus of each players and consider only the win or lose game to make it more of a team game, but it makes the game a hell of a nightmare.

I don’t rank up unfortunately becauses I keep match-up with unranked players who quit the game becauses they keep getting killed.

I would like to have an answer back from you guys, is it only a problem since the last update? Is it gonna get fixed?

Because as it is right know I have no fun playing halo, and i don’t play any competitive gaming as promise. I got Black Ops 3 for chrismas and I am gonna do like a few years ago when i got tired of the bad Halo 4 matchmaking, and switch to Call of Duty.

I really hope you guys can provide me some GOOD answers because I really want to enjoy halo 5 like I did when it came out.

the dedicated server is still having problems like yesterday, and the day before and the day before and the day before…

I am switching to Call of Duty,

thanks 343 for making me hate that game, you guys are too busy banning guys that are not playing for 5 minutes to make that game a fair and good game to play.

Just a thought to put things is perspective. I order for the CSR matchups to be accurate they might need a larger pool of people to choose from. It is speculated that there are about 30,000 people playing Halo at any given time. Those 30,000 are spread between forge, custom games, campaign, warzone, and all the arena playlists. Then it has to take into account who is just playing that playlist. The game has to match you with people who aren’t already in a game and who are searching at the current time and it has to try to match you according to parties (a team of 2 vs. a team of 2, etc…), and it does all this and still manages to find people within a close range. That in mind I think 343 has done a great job. As well, an unranked player will play Onyx’s and Champions if they are playing extremely well. It is only fair to match unranked people with people their skill level too, not just other unranked players because frankly there aren’t enough other unranked players to be matched up with at any given time.

However, I would agree that CSR ranks that we qualify in sometimes seem inaccurate. I was placed in Champion 77 in Slayer and I had lost three games, but I was placed in Platinum 1 in SWAT and I only lost one game in my qualifying matches. Not sure if I am missing something there, but it seems even if I perform on the same level as somebody else occasionally I will be initially ranked much lower.

And they have a system setup that automatically bans for idling. They don’t have 343 employees watching everybody that plays to ban them. Try to do some research and put some thought into your complaints before complaining otherwise 343 will never listen to us. What is really happening is they are too busy weeding out all the bogus complaints like yours to get to the real issues.

I was cheering up for CSR ranking too hopefully it would bring me a high competitive gaming experience. I don’t care about getting high or low ranking, as long as the match-up are fair so everyone can enjoy the game.

the fact is that I got ranked Onyx in swat, it was pretty fair then. Since the new season, I got ranked platinum 1 ( I also lost only 1 game out of 10) and since, its fairly unfair for everyone I’m playing with. Believe me, everyone keeps quitting. I went up to platinum 3 since, but I have to win 4 consecutive game to go up one rank. Its pretty annoying considering the +/- stats of everyone ( I get to play +15 while guys plays all negative in my team ) in order to win, and theses guys are still ranking up with me! I Serioulsy think 343 should think of consider a bit the +/- of a player when they rank them…!

They do consider the +/-. If you go +15 you will rank down much less with a loss. And if you go +15 in a win you will rank up immensely. The key is team work. you have to find a team to play with to rank up.

I do agree that it is much easier to derank than it is to rank up. For every 2-3 wins I get it only takes one loss to lose all that progress. It needs to derank the same amount that it ranks up.

according to 343: After earning your starting rank, the ONLY way to increase your rank is by winning. For team-oriented playlists, this emphasizes the importance of team play. Whether you drop 30 kills in a game of Slayer or single-handedly capture every flag in a CTF match, wins are the only way to improve your CSR.

Yeah wins are the only way to improve, but if you get a good KDA then when you lose you don’t derank as much. I have monitored it on halotracker and found this info true.
