I had to say something after my 20 games today of grifball… What makes players think they can run the ball into 4 opposing team members and score without the help of his or her team? Seriously!!! So many people are losing games purely on the stupidity of others and their " im not thinking at all " before I grab the ball and run into 4 other people with it… Seriously if your just gonna give the ball away everytime you get it, don’t pick the dam thing up or just don’t play!!!

I don’t know why so many people do this.
I usually just stick around with my teammates, play cat and mouse around the map, and feed the members on my team kills while I’m trying to find a decent opening to score. Which… more people should be doing rather than rushing the goal.
Believe it or not, it is a social playlist so expect people to do stupid things, otherwise if you want to win that badly, party up with some sweaty nerds.

Ya thanks we all know its a social playlist and people will do stupid things but come on now its getting ridiculous with either A. the amount of players that don’t care. B. They just have no idea what there doing. Why cant players just play the playlists the way they were designed? Its not hard…
I’d rather someone yolo the ball onto the enemies’ side than retreat too far back and die giving the enemy a short easy run.

When I get the ball I either wait for backup or run on the edge of the wall.

I’d rather I or someone actually attempt to score, than the guys who get the bomb and then set by the friendly spawns waiting to be killed.

And just because I don’t care about W/L that doesn’t mean I don’t want to win,to me the stats are meaningless.

Whenever I have the ball/bomb I try to bait all the enemy players to one side of the court and then throw it to a teammate on the opposite side to score.
It’s a problem, yes. But it’s not that big of a deal. I’d rather have that, than someone who grabs the ball and retreat back to our goal allowing a spawn campfest so follow suite, allowing the enemy team to score because they didn’t have to run far, if at all. It’s a sound strategy in real life sports to “clear” the ball away from your own goal even if it gives them the ball, puck, disk, or whatever.
But I see what you’re saying, some people do it without realizing. But also what I’m reading seems to be incompetence from you and the other players not protecting your runner/ pushing the enemy team back. By letting them run into a team of FOUR you said? You’re supposed to kill them or push them back! Like I said earlier, it’s better to push the enemy back and try to have the ball in a static position near their goal. They’ll have to change tactics because now their focus is on killing the enemy players AND trying to now clear the ball from their goal. Instead of scoring. Which at that moment is your objective.
Grifball is a cat and mouse game, the runner is supposed to dodge and play mind games. But if he’s trapped or in a bad position. I’d rather let them make the play where they YOLO run the ball or toss it to the opposite end of the map to make the enemy team have to re-cooperate and have to run the ball back to your goal.
There’s no problems I can gather from this post. Plus if you don’t want it to happen. I have to say what others have said about Halo 5 since its launch. PLAY WITH YOUR OWN FRIENDS/ FIRE TEAM.

Pffft. They don’t know how to play Grifball. THIS should help you be #1.
Well sometimes 1v4s can work. It’s like breaking ankles in basketball. Also the ball is very good with melees.
Heres’s a tip. Throw the ball at the goal which causes the enemy team to turn around and get it, literally all if of them go back for it. Then run after them, kill, pick up the ball and win easy.
I hope I get a good ball runner, because I stink at it. So, my job is to play tank and kill the enemy, ball carrier first, and protect our ball carrier, and clear a path to the goal. If the ball carrier runs ahead of the team, right into the full opposition, its face palm time.
