Halo 2 is without a doubt the best game of all time. I wish Halo 2 Anniversary would come out, with multiplayer. I miss Halo 2 multiplayer.
Anyone else miss Legacy Halo?

I remember H2 fondly, however my fav has been H3. H2 had incredible host advantage. In H2:
Shotgun battles were very inconsistent.
UNSC sniper literally couldn’t kill from across the map, you had to be within a certain range, or be the host.
Distance BR fights against the host meant you had to land twice as many shots as them, or die.
H2 was a terrific game, but the proliferation of broadband internet made H3 the superior online multiplayer experience.
>Replaced Projectile with Hitscan.
>Replaced the Magnum with the Battle Rifle
>Had copious amounts of aim assist.
>Replaced grenade toppling with boarding.
>Added redundant weapons.
I just didn’t view Halo 2 as much of an improvement, besides the campaign. The Halo game I played the most was Halo PC, too bad it’s pretty dead at this point.

Back in those days I was too young to understand what packet loss was and host advantage and things like that were. I just thought I sucked balls. I distinctly remember having more fun in that game than any of the other Halo games to date. Halo: CE comes extremely close but I didn’t get to play it multiplayer much (I love the campaign, but multiplayer it where its at).
Halo 3 was good, I had a lot of fun but the BR made me mad too much.
I still play Halo 2: Vista occasionally.
I much prefer CE, but that is not to undermine the popularity or skill gap of Halo 2. It’s just that CE is an overall much less forgiving and more competitive game by a longshot.

I didn’t know what competitive Halo was back then, I just had a -Yoink!- lot of fun playing Halo 1 and 2 all the time.
H2 has a special place in my heart because my roommates and I played it incessantly my senior year in college. Now, though, I wouldn’t touch that gameplay unless it were part of a tour down memory lane. Gameplay has moved on, and I think it’s headed in the right direction, even though there are a fair sprinkling of misses among the hits.
I would not buy Halo 2 anniversary unless it significantly improved the Halo 4 multiplayer experience. CEA was decent but there’s no way I’m paying for every single Halo game twice.
Halo 2 should go back online. We all know that.
