Back to Shooter Stopping Power wtf?

So I realized that there are times when I’m running and I’m getting shot from behind and my Spartan stops running. Look I know when you’re trying to get a full on Spartan charge going and the enemy is shooting you obviously you’re gonna fail. But seriously getting shot in the back slows you down? How does that even make sense? What physics enable this to even be possible in any game?

If you are not at full speed you drop out of sprint.

Confirmed, even at top speed a single shot with pistol or any weapon drops your speed to a crawl even if your still “running”

If not at full sprint speed, you will drop out of sprint when shot at.

Yeah that’s how it works, best to use sprint in moderation. This way you have less chance of being caught off guard. Also will be able to react faster as your weapon will be at the ready. Keep your head on a swivel, death could be lurking around every corner.

Gotta be wise when using sprint, get caught sprinting and you’re more than likely dust in the wind.

Even with your back to an enemy? I still don’t see the logic in that at all.

This is why I have always said that a faster base player speed is superior to sprint in almost every way. It just has a better flow and no unnecessary animation that gets in the way of gun play.

It’s to stop people running away every time they’re about to get killed. If you could just keep sprinting all the time, it would be an easy escape without any skill or effort.

If you got shot in the spine, I think you’d slow down too.

When you have shields up? Sorry try again.

Sprint in halo is for running TO an engagement not FROM one.

Getting shot is still getting shot, chances are if you got shot in the back you wold most likely slow down. But it really depends where the bullet ends up.

Your shield should deflect the bullets away before they come in contact with your body? Or am I missing something is this really your armor stopping damage.

It’s a gameplay balancing feature to stop people from running away from fights like in Halo 4. Way too much cat & mouse in Halo 4, sprint was just way too defensive.

So until you reach full speed, getting hit will knock you out of sprint.

Solution? Play smarter.
