My lord, how many maps do we have now? So many modes and maps, so little time. I am overwhelmed at how awesome the game is now. What did we have at launch? 10 maps?
I don’t know if its my new tv or the Xbox S I have now, or 343 actually upgraded the overall look of the game, but I don’t remember Halo 5 looking this good. Remember thinking, ‘well that’s the price you pay for 60fps’
It’s amazing how much work and love has gone into this game. Dropped some $$$ on the voice and classic helmet pack. Got my EOD, so I’m happy. Figured this much work earned some extra dough. Just my honest take. I know Halo gamers are hardcore critical, and even though I’ve played them all, I am a casual gamer at best.
How long have you been gone? If months then yea, quite a bit has been added compared to what it was at launch.
speaking of halo fans being “hardcore critical”, I’d still say there’s more to be done (won’t keep repeating it tho as I’m sure many already know what people think still need added/fixed in the game) but I doubt much more will be done with HW2 here and halo 6 needing to get started on by the majority of 343s team, and maybe, even though they’ve denied it they may be working on a halo 3 anniversary.
Thanks all - yeah, I’ve been gone over a year…Halo 5 is on an external hdd, so it would update automatically, but last night was the first night I’ve played more than 2 matches in a year. Last match I played was when they had the anniversary playlist, but then I played a couple and was out. Didn’t really check out all the new stuff aside from that.
And I have no problem with fans being hardcore critical, as long as constructive.
And yes, I hope for Halo 3 anniversary. That would be awesome…we shall see. but if not, I am happy we got the first two!
For fans of Halo but haven’t read all the books (i’ve read the first 3 or so only), I like how the Halo channel has a vid of the ‘what you need to know for Halo 5.’ Dense but made perfect sense. Fortunately I’ve played all of Halo 4 including the Spartan ops, so Halo 5 just continued from that
FYI, Halo 5 statue editon is $68 online…steal for that money…
Yep halo 5 has turned into a pretty amazing game. It now has the most content out of any halo game and the customs browser essentially provides unlimited content. Have you used the customs browser yet?
I have also noticed the graphical changes I’ve been playing since day one! Lightning on some maps is still an issue (Eden, Raid on Apex 7, and Urban come to mind) and the dynamic lighting on Spartans is still weird looking but the besides those thing the game has improved tremendously and has fallen to the category of games that get better over time.

Not yet - still kinda of getting the feel for it and what it does, but plan on getting into it!

Similar experience for me, OP. I play and love all Halo games over the years. Halo 5 story left a bad taste in my mouth as a fan of the lore, but I just came back a month or so ago and I’m absolutely loving the game now.
