Back on Reach till JIP stops FORCING me in

Even using the JIP trick to get around that HORRIBLE inclusion I was still completely unable to get an Infinity Slayer match started from scratch. It was simply impossible.

I’m not playing this garbage till its fixed. Well done 343. High five.

And colour me both surprised and fiendishly pleased to see nearly 70k playing Reach with me.

Yep, 343i did wrong somewhere…

yeah JIP is awful. I never liked it from the start and still don’t like it.

I like JIP. Functions the same in Halo as it does with every other game in existence that has it. I guess they’re all doing it wrong.

It has pros and cons. If everyone on your team leaves, people can simply join the game and help out. But it’s bad when you join a game and you end up on the losing team that is getting destroyed.

Overall? I’d rather see it gone. But I will tell you one thing. It’s better than Armor Lock.

As a guy who rarely quits games, I haven’t too many problems with JIP. I can remember Halo 3 and Reach games were the entire teams left due to wrong map, poor connection, a twelve year old. And I’d be by myself fighting five to six guys at once and the thought of players helping me out didn’t bother me in the least.

I agree

Hey guys! You may not know this yet but if you want to avoid crappy JIP matches here’s what you do. That’s right, you can actually exit out of JIP matches before you start the game (something you normally can’t do).

-When you see other players player cards show up (the warning sign that you are in joining a match in progress), press start and scroll down to the blade that lets you switch your network status. Select either System Link (or the other one).

-Once you do this, you will be “offline” and you won’t have to JIP.

-Switch back to Xbox Live and wait a couple seconds so you don’t join that match again.

There you go, that’s how you avoid JIP! It won’t count as a loss or quit because you never were in the match to begin with. So don’t worry about that.

I heard JIP was going to be patched soon. Hopefully this is the case because i don’t think anyone in the community likes joining a Team Slayer match where the winning team is 470 and the team you joined only has 100.

Instead of refusing to play the game and demanding change before you do again, how about you keep what you do out of it and simply request an option to search for games that haven’t started yet, or an option to not join games in progress, or for playlists without join in progress, or something like that.

That seems reasonable to me.

ditto. i have joined a few bad games here and there but i rarely actually JIP. i usually get matches from scratch or when i do join were only down by like a couple of points or the game just barely started.

i usually get a match from scratch all the time. sucks for you.

I’m sure none of you are complaining when people join your game after a few teammates quit. But of course when it comes time to repay the favor and help out some other unlucky players, it’s pure -Yoink-.

I really don’t like the JIP addition, but without a punishment for quitting games early, it’s necessary. All you have to do is just quit going back to the matchmaking lobby. You only get JIPed if you’re just entering a playlist.

You don’t own the game.

So like monday.

you guys are just unfortunate, i only get games where im winning or losing by a point or 3 and never half over always just starting matches. in fact id say 3 times in 4 its a jip in my favoras for the score. if i geta losing match its a small loss in a just starting game or if i geta winning match its a game nearly over, and i never get jiped into games where its me and some guy vs 4 guys either. i think jip hates you cause its kind to me

The Reach numbers are goin’ up? Cool. I think JIP is a great idea, it’s just horrible the way it was implemented. It always puts you on the losing team, and the matchmaking doesn’t even split teams evenly at the start… 4 vs 1 is NOT a fair fight.

Ohhhh… That’s dumb, I like to play different games. Which means I JIP a lot. It’s not bad and it’s one of the things I don’t mind but the teams should be even before a game begins.

We should be able friends that are down players, not random matches. I joined a match earlier that had 3 seconds left on the clock.
