Axios Halo 5 BETA feedback

Hi all just thought I give my quick input on the beta!

My backround: Been playing halo since the combat evolved days when my dad bought me my first xbox, didn’t get into halo 2 much as I didn’t get a xbox 360 until halo 3 where I have the most memories with my friends than any other video game. I consider myself a very social gamer always playing with friends.

  • Spartan Abilities:Ground Pound - this is by far my favorite SA, brilliantly balanced for something that is an instant kill. To use it, it puts you in a very risky situation. High risk high reward.

Hover - I don’t really use it to get that last shot off like intended but mostly i use it when I’m to far away to ground pound. What I’ll do is ill sprint off the lege where I am standing and smart scope mid air to get the shots off in time before the enemy can escape.

Charge - balanced pretty well since it must be a clear direct hit to get the kill. I’ve only gotten a handful of kills with it though.

Thruster - changes up gameplay especially in CQB. In a good way, something fresh that the Halo CQB scene needed IMO.

Clamber - IMHO it brings a new kind of skill jump to the table, it’s a little tricky to use as well which how it should be.

Slide - never use it. Don’t see when I should either, I’m I missing something?

  • Weapons:AR - FINALLY! The AR is finally useful… Beats the BR/DMR in CQB which how it should be.

BR - feels right. But please take out the “perfect kill” award, it just gets very annoying sometimes when your in the rhythm.

DMR - was very cautious how it would play in Halo 5 because in Halo 4… it was just a mess for a back of a better word. I think it has finally found its place though, it can beaten by the AR at CQB, can be beaten but hold its ground (depending on the user) in MID range vs the BR, and is efficient at long range duals which how it should be IMO. But that scope though, c’mon 343 you can do a better deign.

Pistol - just like the AR in terms of it actually being useful now, I love it. A true side arm now.

SMG - destroys in CQB. Might need a little tone down but not by much at all, it should still best the AR in very close CQB battles.

Sword - I think there is a canon reason to why it is so ugly.

  • Grenades:Frag - what happened to the good ole one bounce then explode? This is IMO by far the most annoying part of the game…I feel like I get killed by nades more than weapons! I realize you guys had to make it more than a one bounce to explode to balance it against the thrusters but I feel as if it should still be a one bounce then the explosion. Like I said above I should be killed by weapons more, not nades.

Plasmas - Seem a bit useless I cannot remember the last time I stuck some one. Maybe they will play out better in BTB.

  • Spartan Chatter:- i love the immersion it brings to the game. But when the power weapons spawn IMO it should only say it once. Don’t give us a countdown of 10 sec before. Just say when it spawns once, and not specific weapons.

Overall I really enjoy this game even though when I play alone it feels frustrating since most of my team mates don’t use mics and we cannot coordinate. But I really think Halo is back to reclaim the throne.

I forgot do hover users show up on radar when in use?

i agree with all of this, theres some good features in halo 5. so far i havent found many legit complaints other than ‘i hate sprint, i hate blah blah blah cause it wasnt in halo 2’ but a lot of the stuff added are good additions. anyway, i like this post
