Hi guys. So I gotta ask : Does anyone else experience awfully bad graphics in Halo 5?
I don’t really know if it’s my TV or if it’s the game, but I have no problem with any other games I am playing on my xbox but Halo 5 so far is just terrible.
I have serious issues with the graphics as when I have to look 10 yards in front of my Spartan everything gets blurred out and looks awful. It is so frustrating because I can’t focus on anything else on the map except blurred out “pixely” landscape and spartans around me. I read somewhere that 343 scaled down the graphics a bit just to have good framerate, but I just can’t accept if it is supposed to look as bad as it does on my TV.
My friends I am playing with says that they don’t have this problem and that the game looks awesome, but for me I think that halo 4 looks better, and my halo 5 looks kind of like halo 3…
Do any of you have this problem, or is it just me? And if it’s just me, does anyone have an idea or tips on how I can fix this? Xbox options / tv options?
I really want to play the game, but so far I just feel that I can’t because it is looking terrible.
What you are seeing is the dynamic resolution. You have lots of people that will tell you that resolution doesn’t matter, but it’s actually the number one factor for image quality. The resolution goes down in order to keep 60 fps and that makes things very blurry. There’s also a very low distance for LoD and little to no anistropic filtering. That’s what’s causing your blurry, pixilated images.
No it’s equally much on both sides, and in the middle, it’s just everywhere. The only thing that looks to be in place is the hands when you’re holding the weapon.
The colours do not looked washed out, the colour scheme is good.

It has nothing to do with TV or xbox settings. It’s the low resolution and there’s nothing you can do about it.

If it was giving you the same image twice, but offset and the colours being washed out, it would almost certainly have been your TV having problems with the 60fps.
OP look at screenshots of the game, if it looks nothing like what you are seeing then obviously something is wrong on your end, I’ve seen plenty of footage and that (obviously) isn’t supposed to be happening.

It all looks great on my TV - but I wear glasses, so it may be that it does really look like that and my eye sight is REALLY bad!

Looking great is subjective. I’m very sensitive to low resolution because I play games at very high resolution on PC. 1920x1080 is not even a high resolution and those games are blurry to me (whereas “1080p” is considered a “high” resolution on consoles). Halo 5 can go as low as 1150x810 which is very low and blurry. If you’re used to it (I think a lot of Xbox games have lower or dynamic resolution) then you probably don’t pay as much attention to it and it doesn’t look blurry to you.
It’s one of those things where you “can’t unsee it.” I immediately noticed the lower resolution when moving from Halo CE to Halo 2 in MCC.

Yep, this, all of this and its annoying as %^^$
I find the enemies all blend into the background and I find it difficult to see where I’m getting shot from.
In the first blue team mission the only way I knew I was hitting enemies hiding in a room was getting hit markers…so I just kept shooting even tho I couldn’t actually see what it was
The only place where the game looks as it should is when I am in Spartan Cutomization. There it looks great and really nice, but as soon as I go into a game it looks like a game released 8 years ago… I checked the screenshots, and they are all looking better than my gameplay.
I really don’t know what to do. Right now I can’t help but feeling I don’t want to ruin my gaming experience by playing it this way, and wait and hope that they patch it in someway, but I guess that’s not going to happen.

Never compare your graphics to screenshots. They are always doctored to look better.

I’d be happy to have the graphics as is because the hitbox is spot on!! I guess that’s the sacrifice that needed to be made but to say it looks like halo 3 or n64 is just ridic… pick up your crack pipe before U comment. The texture are defy sub par in areas but overall it doesn’t affect my joy of getting a killing frenzy at the end of the day…
