It’s a custom menu or user interface that I think, with some minor tweaking, would be a step in the right direction on 343’s part, because the UI on Halo 4 was abysmal at best. Seriously, I don’t know how they messed up that bad, but the scrolling through player cards thing was just not a very intuitive or practical idea.
You’ll notice that the scheme in the video is similar to the way it’s been in past Halo games, with a nice beautiful visual and musical touch. I mean it when I say this would be a great thing for 343 to keep in mind if they want to bring some of Halo’s old fanbase back.
To be clear, this isn’t mine. I just found it. Any feedback to the creator should go to his/her YouTube channel.
It looks ok. I personally feel leaving the colors in is a good touch for the menus. Halo 2 and 3 had the colors bled-out into shades of blue which I didn’t really care for. Reach had it nearly perfect. If we had an updated-UI like this with Reach’s organization on the menu’s, I feel this would work great. In it’s current state, the Countdown Timer seems out of place, but everything else is pretty good. I don’t like the names of the player’s in the center of the screen, however. Maybe if the Spartan models and names list were flopped, it would look better. That’s just me though.
