Awesome deleted halo content

Ok so I was browsing the web when i stumbled upon this video

and i thought how awesome that would have been in a halo game if it had still kept the halo feel.

I decide to ask the community, what are your thoughts? Would you have liked this in a halo game? Would you like this in, let us say halo 5?

Discuss

i definatly want to see the character boarding they already have the mechanics and it was in h=forward unto dawn

That video is so cool

yea the thing that I was disappointed with was the fact that we never got mp space battles. Plus the huge persistent world would have been awesome, halo style battles on a MMO/BF3 scale

Deleted things that need to be redone and put into Halo 5:

  • Hunter(Character) boarding
  • Space battles in Multiplayer
  • Guardian Sentinels
  • Super Hunters(The giant red ones that appeared in Halo Legends)
  • Space squirrel and porcupine(RIP), along with other forms of wildlife
  • Machete and other possible melee weapons
  • The Lost City(If it was cut b/c it could’ve been a game by itself, why not put it in Spartan Ops?)

That’s not deleted content. That’s Bungie prototyping mechanics for Reach.

Global Battle? <3

Space battles in multiplayer would be cool.

Global battle is sweet, would love to see that!

Space multiplayer is very cool as well.

Nope nope and nope. It is obviously running halo 3’s engine. Reach alone isn’t even half of what halo 3 was.

This video is solid proof that halo 3 was the best halo (and could have been even better had they added this stuff). End of discussion.

man,a watercraft would have been awesome. Too bad they decided to get rid of it.

Halo Reach runs on a heavily modified Halo 3 engine. This is indeed a Reach prototype because the BR in that video is single shot, the giant Brutes obviously become Gueta. The Elites are enemy’s etc.

This is basically the gameplay mechanics prototype of Reach before they add on the super -Yoink!- graphics layer.

Well that obviously didn’t go too well then.

I’d love to see the global battle thing. Even during the Covenant’s invasion, the battles felt a little too small IMO.

What is there really to discuss? The moment that video came out it’s always been the same few responses.

I feel like I’m on facebook with all these reposts.

In some aspects, it went better I’d say. Hitscan, better loading times, improved frame rate… Most of the actual issues were gone. The gameplay itself just wasn’t as good. One step forward two steps back, all that.

Those global battles looked incredible. I’d love to be a part of massive engagements like that. My god, think of the replay value.
