UPDATE: The patch is now live and available for download in Halo Wars 2. Once you have the patch installed, Awakening the Nightmare should be ready to rock. Enjoy!
Hey everyone - As you may already know, the Awakening the Nightmare expansion has already started to appear on the Xbox / Win10 Marketplace. However, it’s not yet available to actually purchase/download/install. This is all as expected and by design, it’s not technically released yet.
The current plan is that later this evening - potentially within the next hour - the team is going to push the game patch live for download. Once that’s been released and you have it downloaded/installed then we anticipate the AtN DLC content being available for use.
Officially, the Awakening the Nightmare expansion will be launching tomorrow morning. Unofficially, you should be able to start playing it later this evening.

Am I the only one that had to reinstall the game just because the update wouldn’t install so I you restarted the xbox the update isn’t even registering as being there like i just uninstalled a bunch of things for nothing but to install all of halo ward except the part I wanted to be installed? Is there anyway I can fix this or is the game just going to reinstall with no hopes a playing it today?
Game update is crashing at 9.24 GB every time, been trying for like 2 hours now. Each time it says “Installation stopped,” then says, “The item you’re trying to use appears to be corrupt. Try uninstalling and reinstalling it.” Which I have done twice. Anyone else?

Having the exact same problem, down to the 9.24GB crash point. I’m trying uninstalling everything of Halo Wars 2 and completely unplugging my xbox and hard drive. About to boot it back up and see if it works.

Just read something about trying to install to an internal hard drive if you’re doing external. I’m at 6.87GB so I’ll report back with results.
EDIT: Surpassed 9.24GB after installing to internal hard drive. 9.41GB and counting.
