Does this feature work? As far as I can tell it doesn’t. Why put useless code in a game?
The preferring and avoiding feature isn’t Reach specific, it’s a feature for Xbox Live as a whole. But it doesn’t seem to have much of an effect really. Well either that or Reach cancels it out.

Doesn’t work at all. I blocked someone, removed for personal reasons, even filed police reports against the person.
First game I got back home to, he was in the first game on my team constantly betraying me, there was nothing I could do about it.
It decreases the chance that you will be matched up with that player. It’s not 100% that you will NEVER play with that person again.
Me and my friend found a nice way to get into the same Lone Wolves match a couple times in a row. We preferred each other and when we when went to Lone Wolves we both started looking for a match at almost the exact same time. We had a countdown and we would hit start as soon as it was done. It worked for about 10 matches in a row.
So I think it does work, just not always. As you can see our streak ended.
I always mark teamkillers and AFKers as avoided players, since it’s the only thing I can do about them.

My god that is horrible! Just out of curiosity, what playlist were you playing?
Avoid/Prefer player is a feature of Xbox LIVE, not of Halo Reach.
When you avoid a player, you’re less likely to be matched with them. In other words, you can get matched even with an avoided player. Avoiding a player will decrease their rating unless avoided for “Lacking skill”.

Yep it sucked, didn’t really cheer me up much, I come on the xbox to get away from stuff like that, also it was in Big team.
Yup, ive had about 5-6 times ive marked avoid player and then get matched up with them or against them…
most recently it happened in team slayer playlist with pop over 4k! LOL
I will say when you play with a group of friends, you notice the feedback when one guy (we do this all the time cause its infuriating) quits early without even trying or betraying. We’ll slam them with 5 or 6 negative feedback cause were a group. We’ve never seen them again lol

If we were on your team we would of started messing that guy up. We usually try to screw idiots over betraying our team for no reason.
My personal favorite! when a teammate kills our other mate for getting the sniper in hemorrhage and as soon as he jumps from the base and hits the ground, I splatter him with the revenant haha. Every time.
Didn’t want to double post but could not find a delete button for the life of me.

That’s why I stopped playing big team…
Also, at the guy above me, you can edit your posts, if that helps at all.

To the guy below me
haha. I know, but I submitted the second post on accident, and I was going to C&P my original post to the second then delete the original. But It would not let me, so I left it as a double post. lol

It has never worked. Twas the same for Halo 3.
once i avoided a serious aimbot power invincible hack and all and i avoided him and i was with him for the next 2 games! that was in 3 but it still happens quite alot in reach
Doesn’t work Never has …
But idk I just play the game and deal with then kids being kids
I noticed the more I avoid players on LIVE the more I get put with them. Like back in Halo 3 I faced a team of 4 people in SWAT that lagged like crazy so I avoided all 4 of them. Next 8 games I searched I found those same 4 all over again … It is broken but as said before it isn’t a game specific but an entirety of Xbox LIVE thing. It is meant to decrease chances of running into people you “avoid” on LIVE but the game developers all say -Yoink- you to Microsoft and make the games go around it for “faster” search times.
I see no reason to avoid players. I’ll avoid one player that went -17 on my team only to get another derp teammate next match. Too many of them.

Well, that’s a good point. But it’s still the only thing I can do about those derps. It gives me comfort just to do something, albeit it has no effect.
