I’m just curious. Can you unlock avatars & banners or are new ones given to you at certain times of the year? I ask this because I’ve noticed people who have avatars that I do not even posses & yet they apparently haven’t posted as much as me. I haven’t even posted that much…

Don’t worry. I know better. I’m the head moderator of PokEdit. I deal with stuff like that daily. When you run a site focused on QR hacking & genning Pokemon, forums are bound to flood over with spam. But overall, I keep them clean.

“You spam we ban” is just a reflexive response to people asking ANYTHING about forum ranks for me. I see people ask and instantly start to cringe and know it’ll likely mean work for me.
Glad there’s an exception to that out there! 
er, sorry. Noob question… What exactly do the banners and avatars do? Are they just for your profile customization on the forums? Or can you use them in-game too?

Actually we do the same on PokEdit. However I don’t know if y’all have the problem of spam bots or not. xD
Rare to see spambots on here but I guess that’s probably due to Waypoint using Microsoft accounts rather than generic logins. Your forums run phpBB which doesn’t take much effort to spam if you don’t have any security measures in place. Some good Anti-Spam extensions for phpBB, haven’t worked with it much for a few years now though. 3.1 is a whole new beast haha

Wow! That’s hilarious. One time we got attacked buy a spam bot trying to promote books for the Hare Krishna. Then there were 17 posts about Nike knockoffs…

I saw one selling purses once. That one was great.
