Hi I am not sure if I missed an update, or a thread and I am only looking for clarification, the Avalanche Sniper Skin for Halo 3 was a skin that I missed out on because I was rather busy at the time of its release, I missed the challenge, with that said will it appear in the exchange at some point?
I recall the developers mentioning that all the seasonal challenges based rewards will eventually find their way into the exchange, and so far that is true, with the exception of the Avalanche Skin. I know it was a reward for the Skilled based matchmaking of H3 Recon playlist, so I have heard that it may not come at all for that reason. If anyone has a link to 343 saying it will or won’t appear in the exchange it would be appreciated, or just an answer would be helpful.
With that said do you think it should be added? Why, or why not?
I personally think that it is a nice reward but seeing as though the seasonal challenges don’t cycle through it would be awesome for those who have stocked enough points to be able to get their hands on it to round out their collections.

I’m actually more offended with the fact that they added items for just as hard challenges, such as Vidmaster: Endure, very fast. Like, i get it, ranked is hard too, but, that just feels unfair that I was sweating with it and the others just got it for points in the next season. If so, I demand ranked items being added in the exchange at least after 2 seasons. Though considering that 343 are done with seasons all together I hope they’re gonna add it all.

I think it’s going to come eventually and they’re just slowly slacking, on purpose or not.
I think the reason it’s taking so long is because some people were complaining an absurd amount on it being added back. With how the challenge with that skin was handled they really need to bring it back soon. Me and my one friend were pretty much SOL with getting it because we didn’t know you could start working towards the rank you needed before the season launched. When the new season came out we only had 1 week to go from rank 1 to 20 (we made it to 18 but I never got so mad at Halo in my life and I don’t usually get mad at games) compared to the Halo 4 skins which you had the whole season to try and get. If the challenges were permanent I’d be ok with that as there is no time frame, but the fact it had such a small time frame to obtain after the season came out still ruffles my jammies. The only time to me timed exclusive content works is if it is an in game event if done right (Ex. it was only a nameplate but there was the winter contingency event and you could unlock a cool nameplate at the time).
They’ve also added other ranked rewards to the exchange that came after those challenges (recently the Lucky shot BR skin) so it really should be on of the next few added into the exchange even if it like 10 season points or something, the Halo 4 skins should get added as well as those ones I think you needed a higher rank to get those.

The Lucky Shot H3 BR skin is the only ranked reward that has come to the Exchange so far, everything else still has yet to make even one appearance there. All the other seasonal rewards have been from limited time PvE challenges. The Halo CE Golden AR skin all the way back from Season 2 hasn’t even been in the Exchange still, and that was obtained through a pretty easy PvE challenge.
I’ve been patiently waiting to get avalanche as well. I got lucky shot through the challenge but I’m glad they offered it on exchange later as well as I think it’s one of the best skins in the game. I hope they do it with more skins.
As someone who has unlocked all the ranked skins I say they should go up on the exchange. Those challenges were hell sometimes, and honestly most folks probably don’t even equip them. Enough times passed to put them up on the exchange, or at least bring back the challenge.
The original stated purpose of the exchange was as a place to pick up some of those challenge limited items you might have missed for a higher season point cost. In reality it has been used as predominantly a second ‘store front’, with increased FOMO, for even more cosmetics, to dump more season points into. Big fan of its original stated purpose, very much not a fan of what it has been and what the entire season system (and the exchange in particular) bode for Infinite.

Couldn’t agree more and it’s frustrating to see weapon skins going for such high points. Why are they 4 points when any other skin would be in the season for 1 point?
I wouldn’t mind paying more if they were new skins such as for the spartan laser, spiker, brute shot, wraith etc. but it’s just more assault rifle, battle rifle skins etc which we already have so many of.
Now I know nothing about making games, but I can’t imagine why they haven’t done skins for other items, especially the wraith.
Yes the old season rewards should definitely be in the exchange by now, anyone upset by this should really not be fussed about it by now.

This is pure speculation on my part, but maybe the cost is determined by how many season points you would have been awarded while completing the challenges that would have unlocked it initially, in reference to skins previously available for unlock only through challenges. And if you are referring to standard skins, maybe it is best to look at it from the perspective that it would cost more than one season point if the item in question was anywhere other than the first tiers of the season unlocks in general.
