So whenever im in party chat with my buddy doesn’t matter what we are playing, at a certain point we can no longer hear each other until one of us restarts our xbox. Im not sure if this is an issue with our connection to each other or something on Microsoft’s end. But it happens constantly. We only live two blocks from each other.
Now, another issue i am having (not sure if the two are related) but im in party chat with buddy (hes not playing Halo 5) and suddenly can no longer hear him and i realize im talking to the people in my game. After the game i switch it back into party chat, everything is fine, then about half way through the next game it just randomly automatically puts me into game chat… What is up with this? It happens every game now and it extremely annoying. Is there anyone else with a similar problem?
I’m pretty sure I’m having a similar problem. A friend and I will be playing Halo 5 in a party. We switch to game chat to be social (crazy idea!) but I can’t hear anyone. I am back in party chat after the game starts. I can switch to game chat, and apparently people can hear me, but I can’t hear anyone else.
Hey dudes the reason this is happening is because when you press the “back” button to check the score, you are hitting “X” also. This makes you go into game chat, and for some reason, you can’t go back into party chat by pressing X again. When this happens, you can manually go back into the party by way of the dashboard when you press the home button. You can go back into the party without having to reset your xbox. Hope this helped

Thanks alot! Didnt even notice the option, hopefully youll be able to pop in and out of party chat in the full game, that would be a great feature. But still doesnt solve my issue of not being able to hear each other even in party chat. But thats either an issue with our connection or microsoft. Just wanted to know if anyone has a similar issue?
Same here. Party system is unstable with halo 5 beta. One day I and my party gave up party chat and moved to game chat. But some guys kicked out to party chat. No solution yet. I always do this : doulble click home button to open snap. go party app. Small circle means “This guy is in party chat” If you don’t have small circle left of your tag, press A on your tag. and select part chat. 343 should patch it asap.
It doesn’t work for me. It puts me in game chat, and no amount of pressing X to switch will actually switch me. I have to go to the party app and switch.
I miss the days of halo 2 and halo 3 where you can chat in the lobby. Not lose chat option while during 30 second intermission. Fireteam doesn’t allow chatting with each other for some reason.
I’m unsure if this is a “fixable” option in the future seeing as we can’t have the option of sitting/chatting in an invite only Fireteam on the menu screen
