this is a question for anyone who knows
I am wondering how automatic weapons like the storm rifle, assault rifle, and Suppressor compare to the precision weapons in the game.
So far the only answers I have gotten are biased like some one saying the weapon sucks when they unloaded more bullets into the wall then their opponent.
I appreciate anyone with an unbiased answer or explanation
also any one who knows about the kill times of the automatic weapons
The automatic weapons will always be sub par compared to the precision weapons because the automatics fill a single niche where as precision fill multiple roles.
That being said the automatics feel much stronger then the past games.
AR: acts pretty much the same as before but punchier
Storm rifle: comparable to the plasma repeater pretty much behave the same except the SR feels much stronger. completely wrecks up close.
Suppressor: feels like a stronger AR but less accurate
DMR: as you would expect accept bloom does not effect it as much in the past also it seems to lose accuracy the closer you get to the person. Kind of hard to explain its just better to say that its not really ment for CQC.
BR: pretty much the exact opposite of the DMR. has controllable recoil very good in medium to close range but lacks in long ish range.
Carbine: Didn’t use it much but its got the accuracy of a DMR but a longer kill time like the BR. works well in medium and long it does better in CQC then the DMR but not by much.
Light rifle: a combination of the DMR and the BR but a slower rate of fire its basically the middle ground of the DMR/BR.
The real questions is: “How bad in comparison are the automatics to the precision weapons?”

how bad? not as bad. infact unless the player is terrible automatics are going to be beating precision weapons in CQC more often then they used to.
the main thing is if your accurate with them can you get a close-mid range kill against a precision weapon?

This is coming from a player who disliked using automatics in past halo games (bar the ODST smg) they feel so much better in this game. They arn’t going to be out preforming precision weapons outside of their role. But the only precision weapon i can see beating an automatic on an even amount of times is the BR. Only because the BR in this game is made for more of a CQC situation.
