I’ll keep this short.
I say the only way for these two weapons to work well together without one being crazy over powered is to make it so the precision weapons do little damage when but can get off a headshot and allowing auto matics to do more damage if they shoot the head. Something around a 20% damage increasef fired at the head
I probably shouldn’t say automics are the only ones to get this buff but weapons like the plasma pistol too.
I think what needs to be aimed for is that the precision weapons need to bb used for headshot and long range combat. While automatics for suppression,close combat and be somewhat good a mid range. Maybe have it depend on hte automatic.
Make it so that an automatic beats a precision weapon up close unless the precision player is far more skilled than the automatic player.
Keep the precision weapons far and the automatics closer. Let the nid range battles be a fair fight,maybe having descope will do this. The reason i made this is because well precision weapons rule this game series to the point that we might as well take out all the automatics. You could say they add in diversity but so did the elites. I’m sure we all know that automatics have been near useless to ranged weapons even up close so if something doesn’t change i say why waste teh time deveolping automatics if they aren’t going to mean anything.
I can say that the only automatic that i think has ever been useful on its on it Halo has been the needler. Turrets, gunner seats, and guns fall to precision weapons. Also the saw post update, before it had the strenght of dual-smgs in my mind.Sort of like 343i took away the middle man.
So let me try to put it into a real time prespective. Have automatics do the same damage as the SAW if they aim for the head and slightly below average damage when damaed anywhere else.
