Auto-Sentry

How exactly would you hope it functions? What would make it balanced with other AA’s?

Just wondering how you all envisioned it.

like the one from Halo3’s campaign.

Honestly I can’t imagine how it could work in a balanced way. In every game where there’s an automated turret if you don’t pay enough attention to it you get gunned down immediately.

I’m assuming it’s probably similar to the scorpio turret from Borderlands or the sentry from team fortress 2. Although, it could be completely different.

You know, I didn’t think of that. That would actually be kind of neat. When I hear auto-sentry I think machine gun.

In my campaign it never shooted… I think that is remote operated by a blind grunt…

I definitely want it to be destroyable by shooting it enough.

I absolutely abhor things like this and mines. No skill what so ever weapons. It’s my opinion but I stand by it. It should take skill of some kind to get a kill in Halo, even if it’s a rocket launcher.

It’ll probably function as something to just lower your shields a bit and will be easily destroyed. It can be nuisance if placed in the right spot.

I see it being able to set on the ground and do some damage if set in the right spot. It will easily be destroyed with a Promethean grenade. That’s one reason they were probably made.

Don’t make it super powerful. It shouldn’t be able to quickly turn. It lasts for a few seconds (8 sec at least).

I envision it as a one use only per life “Ability”, with low damage and with low health (enough to survive one non-well-placed BR shot)

If it fires burst fire, I think it’ll be much more balanced.
