auto-sentry takes to long to activate.

hey guys, I know all of us try to find every video we can and study them. Well I have some gameplay here that I am sure has been posted somewhere, but felt this needed a more specific thread.

Watch Walshy gameplay up top and pay close attention at the 7:40 mark and just watch from there. It seems that in the middle of battle the auto-sentry is no good. So it appears to be more of a proactive AA than a reactionary one.

This is probobly the best look at the auto sentry I have seen. There are some other cool things in here too, but I wanted to focus on the turret.

Thoughts???

This is the way I would rather have it. The less “get out of jail free” cards the better. A player shouldn’t win a battle because they were able to spawn a sentry right in the middle of it.

It requires a good location to be effective.

Personally, I think they’ve taken all the necessary steps to make it a balanced AA.

Keep in mind also that it will probably go for Holograms and ignore Camo users. Think of it as a game of Rock Paper Scissors.

its fine

If it was any faster, it would be called overpowered. It’s not made to throw out in the middle of battle, you’re supposed to place it strategically to help you weaken opponents and get kills.

I think it needs tO be buffed.

> its fine

I agree. I could not fit in the title what I really wanted to say. I was really meaning that it takes to long to be effective in battle…aka…hard-light shield. So you can’t just pull out a turret at the last second to save your life. Which is good.

I think a long set-up time is best, it’s a defensive AA not an offensive one.

Not only that, but the auto sentry isn’t meant to pick up kills. It’s not an automatic turret. It doesn’t do heeps of damage either. It’s also pretty easy to destroy.

From some footage I saw of it, I can’t remember which video, I saw an enemy team deploy it. It shot maybe 1-2 times before it was destroyed. And the player who was playing got hit once I think, lost maybe 1/5 or 1/4 of his shields.

It’s fine the way the way it is. If it were to activate any faster it would become a major annoyance and possibly lead to so-called cheap kills.

On a side note I hope people don’t start complaining about the gauss hog firing too slowly, as I think this vehicle along with a few others, (scorpion, banshee) have been quite overpowered and too easy to use throughout the Halo series.
