While I still don’t really like AA’s, I’m going to have to put up with it, so here’s a suggestion for the Auto sentry.
Auto sentry could be like the Engineers turret in Team Fortress, in the sense that you have to “Build it” By that I mean it would require you to do a timed build up that would require you to not be interrupted, interruption includes any form of damage, this would mean that you couldn’t just throw it down into combat and get an easy kill, it would also mean you could create strategic points, but you would only be allowed one, and if it is destroyed, you would have to wait for the a charge up time before being able to place another, it should also be noted that only a set amount of people per team can use the Auto sentry Turret at any given time.
I have highlighted this point because I think this could also apply to all AA’s, one thing Team Fortress did really well was, that it only allowed a set number of people per team to have a certain class at any given time, this stopped everyone from being Heavies, or Pyro’s ect, this could really work for Halo, imagine if Reach had this feature, you wouldn’t get an entire Team using jet pack which is pretty lame (despite the fact that whenever my clan plays BTB, we are all told to use jet pack, and it really does break the game.)
Bro, if people put it in their loadout then they have the right to use it. You can’t just control custom loadouts. If a team uses AutoSentry then thats that. But your idea for the Auto Sentry was great BTW.
I’d find it annoying to have to build it every time. I think you should just be able to toss it down, but it can be fairly easily destroyed and will take a while to recharge. It shouldn’t be too powerful, as it’s main purpose, in my opinion, should be to be place in a high traffic area where it weakens enemies for players to finish off. Also, a limited range of motion might be needed in order to balance it.
These are just my opinions, I’m excited to actually see it in action.

With this kind of implementation, it creates a very un even playing ground, the charge up time wouldn’t be very long, but it would prevent people running around throwing them down mindlessly in hope for some easy kills, you should at-least have to work for the kill/s, placement would be one of the skills, because it wouldn’t be about simply throwing it down, you’d have to think about a good position, and it would require you to make sure you’re not vulnerable while you’re placing it.

This would promote people to use other AA’s, the whole AA concept is supposed to be about adding variety, (while I still don’t like AA’s, why not embrace the purpose of them) and like I said, it would also diminish the effects of a good team out right abusing one good AA, there will be no doubt “The one AA to rule them all” and as soon as it’s discovered, whole teams will abuse it, and create a very un even playing ground.
Dude thats not how its working im kinda of tried of ppl posting ideas and just expecting 343 to put them in the game. No they’re almost done and not going to add somthing just because one person asked for it.

That’s why it shouldn’t be too powerful and should have a long recharge time. Think borderlands soldier turret.

I know that’s not how it’s going to work, nor am I demanding, this is simply a suggestion, if you are sick of people coming up with ideas, then leave the Forum. The Forum is there for people to express concerns, likes and dislikes, and Ideas.
Dude I know its just a suggestion but do you really think that 343 would just stop everything their doing on halo 4 to change something they all ready finished in the game? You don’t even know how the auto sentry works so why would you make a suggestion about something you don’t know about? I mean what else do you know about it besides it’s an armor abilty?
Take time to build it up, the process is stopped if its damaged and must recharge. It could even encourage your teamates to cover you as you set it up. Then when its destroyed, it should have a long recharge time.
If I was to use it, I’d use it in a defensive loadout. In an objective game.
Not sure about restricting it to only a certain amount of people can use it though…

No, hence why It should be pretty clear that I am not demanding, simply suggesting something, just because the game has gone Gold or is near Gold does not mean I cannot post an idea that I think is cool, if this was the case, no one would be still creating suggestions that could be reviewed for the future/later games in the series.
If the armor abilties were limited so not everyone could use the same one during a match at the same time ppl would have to modfiy their loadouts and that would be so annoying. People use different AA’s any way and there is never like a whole time with active camo because everyone is different.

This is precisely what I’m getting at! I think it would make sense for it to be used more like this, where it takes some sort of plan to use effectively.
And to the Highlighted part, I’m only suggesting this because can you imagine everyone in BTB using it? It would be a pretty bizarre and annoying match
> If the armor abilties were limited so not everyone could use the same one during a match at the same time ppl would have to modfiy their loadouts and that would be so annoying. People use different AA’s any way and there is never like a whole time with active camo because everyone is different.
What could work is, if you try to use a Loudout that has an AA that is locked to the people who chose them, it would allow you to change the AA ONCE per game to compensate, this would mean you’d still be able to use the Loadout, and you wouldn’t have the change everything at the start of every game.
Another idea could be that the AA is classed as a defensive AA, and the game would limit “Defensive” AA’s, so only AA’s like this would be limited per team, Hardlight shield could also be classed as a defensive AA, I mean, isn’t that what it’s for anyway? Team work? no a “solo” ability, just another idea.
I like the idea of needing to put it down to use. I doubt many people have played Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer but if anyone has I would propose their way of using the turret. You have to set it down and let it expand before it started firing. I like that. I really wish more information was around about this turret b.c. I don’t like the idea of an AA that kills things by itself and want to see how this turret works. I don’t see that as Halo, granted I don’t see AA’s like Camo as very ‘Halo’ but yeah. Now if this was something you had to fight for on the map to use… that’s Halo buuut that’s another topic.
Then the loadout wouldn’t be custizamible to the full extent. The auto sentry works differently and its not OP how it is normaly. Its pretty weak and should (and probaly will) be able to be taken out by and EMP blast from the plasma pistol. So the AA locking isn’t needed and won’t be there.

I personally think all AA’s should be like that, but if that’s not the case, Auto sentry could be considered a power weapon that you have to fight for, that would be pretty cool.
I really don’t like the idea of limiting AA’s to certain classes and ppl it doesn’t seem like halo that way im srry but the limitation of AA per classes isn’t a good idea for halo 4.

And my opinion is that AA’s arent too “Halo” (but perhaps they will be well balanced, AA’s can and are fun but they create many issues too) but what does “To be Halo” mean now? It’s just a suggestion to balance things out.
