I’ve posted about this before but I haven’t received a satisfactory response (or in some cases none at all). In the original non-MCC games (for all campaigns that are available in MCC), you can Save & Quit at a checkpoint you’d like. However, MCC auto-saves it regardless if you Save & Quit or not. My problem is that I don’t like the Auto-Save feature: I want to save the game when I want to at a checkpoint I like. If I progress further into the game and run into a bad checkpoint I don’t like, I have no choice but to restart the entire mission. That can be very frustrating and time-consuming. Is there any way to disable the auto-save feature in MCC? Is there any way an update can be applied in the future to at least give players the option to enable or disable auto-save? Thanks in advance.
I’m trying to understand the issue here. Regardless of whether or not the game auto-saves, doesn’t saving and quitting manually save the last checkpoint anyway? How does auto-save affect that? The only thing you would not be able to do is turn your Xbox off to avoid having to save and quit at the latest checkpoint.

Sorry if I was confusing. For example, I’m playing a mission and I manually Save & Quit at Checkpoint A. I come back to resume and start again at Checkpoint A. I progress further into the level and reach Checkpoint B, but something bad happens (i.e. I get immediately killed right after, a line of dialogue gets interrupted and doesn’t play, etc). Well now, thanks to that auto-save, I can’t start the level back at Checkpoint A: I have to restart the entire level now. In the original non-MCC games, there was fortunately no auto-save so you can resume from the last checkpoint you saved, not what the game saved. Hope that makes a bit more sense.
I’m just a bit frustrated with this feature because I consider myself OCD when playing the Campaigns and I like to play them a certain way, but now I’m forced to restart the entire level if something doesn’t go my way instead of just reverting back to the checkpoint I wanted to have saved, not the game saving it for me. It’s a convenient feature for others but a PITA for me. I wish I was given the option to enable/disable auto save.

Ohhh, I gotcha. So a situational thing, makes sense. I feel like this is one of those minor details that got looked over. One thing that might work is to delete your local save and redownload it from the cloud, but that is a bit more involved than what you had to do in the original versions of the game. Depending on when your saves were synced last, you might end up at the last checkpoint before the undesirable checkpoint or maybe a few more checkpoints back.
Basically, if you get a bad checkpoint, go into “Manage Game and Add-Ons” and delete only the local save. Then, start up MCC and let your save files sync. The most recent cloud save will be the most up-to-date save file now. This is not exactly how it was in the original versions, but it is something that might help you out.

Unfortunately it didn’t seem to work for me, but thanks for your suggestion!
Edit: It does work after all, I just had to switch from online to offline and back to online. It’s a bit time consuming as you mentioned, but it’s better than having to restart the entire level all over again especially if I was quite ahead in that level. Thanks again!!!

For sure! Glad you were able to get it to work. You’ve got a cool way of playing through levels from the sound of it
