I feel you, Redeemer. I made Onyx 1600 in doubles but this was after a 1 year hiatus in which I uninstalled the game for the exact reasons in your first paragraph. The sheer anger I felt when I was being T-bagged & hit off the map, when literally it was a 400 ping…

I feel the community in OCE deserves the respect of the rest of the gaming world & on top of this… half the OCE could go out & make youtube videos with a 20ms ping & say how good they are & they reached the highest CSR in the game & ranked top 100 in world. It just comes down to connection to play an FPS arena-style game & without it, you have nothing & with nothing, people uninstall & for the diehards, this destroys our slightest possible chances of ever succeeding.

I would also like to know? I assume it would be microsft servers? like those azure servers? CoD cold war has OCE servers, Warzone has OCE servers, Fortnite has OCE servers… 3 massive games over the past couple of yeasrs have all supported OCE with 3-5 Sydney servers.

Thanks heaps mate for speaking up on behalf of us all. I for one and am still experiencing this issues. Im averaging about 3 out 10 games where the ping is below 100ms and for me its completely ruining the experience. Ive played halo for literal decades at this point and saw infinite as a chance to get back to my roots and honestly make a shot of playing this game at a highly competitive level.

This is damn near impossible when the majourity of my games are sitting around 150 - 200ms. It sucks man. Its disheartening. It feels like they dont care about their oceanic play base and as a fan of the franchise for 20 years. That hurts.

Please 343 sort this issue out before we lose our playerbase. I want to play your game. I want to play ALOT of your game, but at the moment I just cant and after speaking with all my local old halo buddies, they agree.

Another Aussie here, hoping that we get more dedicated servers, constantly stuck on 140~ ping US servers by the looks of it. Still enjoying multiplayer but ranked feels like I’m on the back foot cause of ping.

Through it all we fight through the lag. Never forget what you accomplished. You may have been cheated by the server but we earned what we got. Keep fighting mates! And one day we shall have our own servers!

I legit was stuck playing on servers with 270ms+ ping the other night in Ranked matches.

Can this joke end???

Agreed! How can we be competitive with 200+ms ping? It’s unfair and it needs to be addressed. Give us a region select or just more Australian servers before everyone has enough and moves on.

Add in the desync issues with the servers and the other input issues that may pop up every now and then. It is a very noticeable challenge somedays to just sit down, play and relax after a long day.

  • As of today, we’ve increased the priority of low pings to our servers in the matchmaking process. This step should help you match with local players, and therefore have a better connection, more often. As you get more of these local matches, instances of playing on further data centers will also decline.
  • Separate from the bullet point above, our Services team has taken additional steps to help ensure you can have quality matches with players from your respective regions, more often. We expect this to have a noticeable impact when making matches for players in less populated regions around the world including - but not limited to - Australia and Asia. This update, which went live yesterday, has already shown promising results and should take further advantage of this morning’s changes. Please keep an eye out and let us know how your games start to feel.

Taking additional steps to ensure people in our region and similarly lower populated regions have quality matches? Bloody oath! It may be little steps but it does mean heaps. Good on ya 343i!

This is a great step in the right direction and shows that 343 is definitely listening to us whiny bunch of entitled brats. For real though, this will make a huge difference for Oceania players if ot works as intended.

Just reporting in from Melbourne AUS here. Friend and I cannot find a single solo/duo Ranked game, and every single one of our ranked matches so far in open/4-man has been 150-180 ping. Literally talking to West Coast Americans who have ~5 ping…

Ever since the block on geo filtering my friend… US 1 - OCE - 0… I literally stopped playing about 10 days ago because it just proves my initial points. <3

Haven’t been able to find a single ranked game in Australia for the past month… No matter what time of day i try either.

Is this a population issue? Or a server issue?

Agree havn’t found ranked game for last month minimum so stopped playing, desync mixed with horrible ping servers no thanks.

its 100% a server issue. its like there are no dedicated OCE servers for ranked. I spend so long looking for a game when I search, If I have someone in US as party leader, its almost instant but ping is always 150+

Yeah true. I can find games in OCE for social playlists fine but it’s only scuffed for ranked. Very disappointing as i wanna climb again but it’s impossible right now.
