Right now I am seeing confusing posts about people getting games within 15seconds - 5 minutes that or restarting the search and getting a game. I have have also followed this:
After a good night of testing and reading on the forums, i found some of the best way to fix the searching time in Matchmaking even if, since the update on the servers the time improved a lot. Here’s my guide:
1st: look at your connection and NAT (Nat needs to be OPEN and not; moderate or even strict. then if you’re on open be sure to switch your country and region to USA, this improve a lot the time of searching!
2nd: Each time you start a game, start a timer on your phone, laptop, computer, mp3 etc… it takes 15seconds-5minutes to find a game. if you don’t find a game in 5minutes just restart the search and you need to see the little circle turning around jhust after searching players so you know that you’re really searching for a game.
3rd: if all this doesn’t help out sign out take off the game and re-insert it. Then start a custom game by yourself and end it right away. After this go search a game in MM, this should help.
4th: If any of this work well i’m afraid i’m out of solution for now, but if you keep looking every hour on the BUG FEEDBACK thread, you’ll see new solutions to improve your game searching.
5th: Finally when you are searching a game be sure to be ‘‘in lobby’’ here’s a link to frankie’s guide for this part:

6th: ENJOY MATCHMAKING !
Was a pleasure, hopefully it helped some of you guys !

Everything in that list is done properly. So is the Australian server not working for halo? Another thing is when I DO get a game, 1 in 10 games are Australian based with no lag. Every time I join there are american people talking in lobby and the game is lagging. Can someone clarify this? I feel as if they are fixing only the american based server and no where else. Basically non stop searching from release date I have found 36 games in total over around 96 hours of searching. If you take this “1 in 10 games are Australian” quote and the fact people are saying the servers put you into a P2P game when the dedicated servers aren’t finding you a game then it kind of makes sense that the Australian azure server is in fact not working. I REALLY want a reply on this. ARE THE AUSTRALIAN SERVERS WORKING OR NOT. I will bump the hell out of this post until I get the info needed because I really don’t think 343 even knows. Thanks.

The dedicated servers were working yesterday I know that but so far today I am just getting peer to peer games. It’s still reasonably early in the morning here in Australia though so give it time.

How do you know that it was a dedicated server though?

Well I can usually tell just from the gameplay. This game was very smooth. I check the gamercards of the players in the match as well. Most of them were New Zealanders but it did have some American’s on the opposing team so I guess I might be wrong. I’m not 100% sure if the dedicated servers are completely region locked?
No it isn’t region locked, No offense to you but I am really just trying to find exact answers and confirmation that we are getting looked after here in AUS/NZ and aren’t wasting our time.

How do you do that? I don’t seem to have an option to change my NAT and region.

Eh well guess I am the odd one out. NAT shouldn’t even be a factor on dedicated servers and Frank has already said they are using peer to peer as a back up.

Wrong.

Okay watching american games on Twitch.tv and they get games almost back to back waiting around 1 minute. So I now feel the Australian servers are just not working. Can any 343 staff please clarify this!
