So I’m Australian and on the forums recently we’ve made it pretty clear of our inability to find a whole list of gametypes (WZA, FFA, and BTB in particular as well as Breakout) However as of yesterday I’m suddenly finding matches. Has 343 done something to fix the issue or has a whole bunch of Aussie gone and bout or started playing halo 5?
Its hard to say. Maybe 343 is doing a test to see what works and what doesn’t. It could be a pretest to Mays update. But again im only guessing. But if its working I would start playing as many games as you can. And enjoy it before something else goes wrong! LOL
I was told that the regions were unlocked and so now games can be found in just about any playlist for australians. But something has gone wrong with mine and the exact opposite effect has happened to my matchmaking , where i cant find games and need to be in full parties to find a match with people. I joined a group of 7 for warzone and they couldnt find a match until after i left. Not too sure whats gone wrong for me :(.
They took off region lock for Australia last night. I was actually able to find games in FFA for the 1st time.
If it’s true that would explain why I had a warning on my FFA saying I couldn’t join cause latency was too high.
So I guess we will be getting these lag issues everyone has been complaining about.
Lag was already an issue for me. Can’t see how this will help.

Make sure your NAT type is open. Or test your connection in your xbox ones dashboard. See if you NAT is open. If all of that is good do the classic power cycle of your xbox.

That will be another problem you will find with the region lock removed. Very high ping rates.

Mine used to be set to open. I get new and much improved Internet. Now it’s set to moderate. I don’t have problems. So is it a problem? I mean things are fine. I lag well all my friends lag from time to time during game. Like the screen will freeze for 1 second then continue. But does this have to do with moderate? I doubt it but yeah. Just wonder what the diff is.

I get the latency warning sign next to the FFA playlist also but it still allows me search and to be honest, the lag isn’t even that bad when playing against Americans.
Well no region lock would explain it but I guess we will get to be the ones complaining about lag if what everyone says about the EU region lock going off is true. Not that I’m complaining I’m happy 343 done something about the issue and I’m yet to experience any issues as of yet
yeah, yesterday i played with Unyshek and i was so confused. (I am Australian… if it wasn’t obvious)

Moderate usually allows you to play but it wont be ideal. In some cases it will allow you to play and others it might not. I always make sure my NAT is set to Open. If your friends all have there NAT Open and you join them and yours is set to Moderate that may be the reason you cant play with them. The preferred setting is always Open. If I was you I would change it to Open and give that a test run!

Thanks mate.
To be honest I didn’t try clicking on the FFA one cause of the warning so will try tonight.
I did play other game types last night and there was noticeable lag but it wasn’t a game breaker.
Fingers crossed it stays that way.
Wait, we had matchmaking?
Seriously though, my net couldn’t handle to normal amount of lag, this won’t help people like me unfortunately.
Interesting point though, I didn’t experience any lag during the Doom beta, I cannot fathom why, given how consistently bad my connection is.
has breakout been unlocked?

Mine is set to open, and I’ve tried doing the power cycle for xbox, taking all other devices off the internet, and i use a wired connection. But it still doesn’t work. It sucks because before the regions were unlocked, i could solo matchmake into team arena, slayer, swat, and warzone. But now there is nothing i can do except join other groups for all other gametypes.

I’d like to suggest 2 friends that are both Aus.
Phokso and RAGE X CrAnKii. Both are keen to play with players in their timezone.
