Austin7934 Present’s My First Fan-Made Halo Trailer August 4th, 2012
Hey everyone! Austin7934 here with my very first Halo Fan-Made Trailer! This was my first time making a video with iMovie '09 and in all honesty I took me a while to get use to the interface before I started making this trailer. As I have mentioned already, it is my first one so It will not be my best one. I would really appreciate constructive criticism so my next one will be even better! One issue I can across was separating voices and music. For example, there were many lines I used that had music already behind the voice tracks. As far as I know, iMovie cannot separate the two and it’s very complicated to do so. This took me 2 or 3 days or so and I am pretty proud of the outcome. Also let the record show that I finished the video today, on my birthday
First off, great fan-trailer Really, it was awesome, espicially for your first one. Well done. I’ll try offer some constructive criticism, but I can’t really point out anything too bad. You have already mentioned separating the voices and music, so I don’t see anything wrong.
I think maybe you used a tad to much Halo 3 clips, but part from that, good job. Maybe you should include some clips of the scenes shown at Comic Con - They look fantastic and I havn’t seen any fan-video’s with them in it
That was sick! It was slow paced when it needed to be and picked up at the end with the scene of the cryptum and 343 Guilty Spark talking about the Didact. I love the song “Requiem” and how is faded out when Chief was talking to Cortana right before going into the cyro-tube. You sir, have some serious talent.
I liked the music, that’s all…the rest sucked…

A very fine piece of work Mr Powers, why if i was down there i would pin the medals on you myself. Music fitted in like a puzzle.
Hey I really loved that trailer everything was great! Keep up the good work. Also props for your first video with something you haven’t used before and do such a good job.

It was quite well with the exception of it being your first time. I saw that you do some other videos about music and dancing. I saw them both and they were really entertaining. You should keep that up.

Thats actually funny, I forgot this account had those on youtube One was battle of the Bands and the other was a breakdancing performance I did.

@hurryingCandy - Personally, I liked going back to Halo 3 with chief in cryosleep. I wasn’t trying to make it look like it was going back in time, I just liked the parallel of chief where he is now, sleeping, and chief on requiem. Perhaps I need more emphasis on transitions to indicate something like that in the future. The transitions I used were very simple.

There’s nothing wrong with it. But in my opinion it should come in the begining not half way in. But that’s just me.

Undstandable. I personally like the cinimatic cutscenes more so I put close to no gameplay in. Perhaps future ones I’ll find more room for gameplay. Those cutscenes are just so awesome
