Aurora Clan (militaristic, community)

Clan Name: Aurora Clan
Founder: Arkus Eon
Recruiting Officer: Arkus Eon
Type: Militaristic, multi-game, community
Games: Halo 3, Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Halo 4, Halo: Combat Evolved (PC only), Battlefield 3 (PC only), Team Fortress 2 (PC only), Counter-Strike: Source (PC only), Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood (Xbox 360 only), Assassin’s Creed Revelations (PC only)
Website: http://theauroraclan.webs.com/
Information: A relatively new militaristic Halo clan, with ranks derived from the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and British Army. Outside of Halo, the clan becomes community-based, with friendly team and competitive events run in a wide variety of PC and Xbox 360 games. The Halo base itself is also partially community-driven, with a calender on the website updated occasionally to list events taking place over the next few months, which tend to include Grifball Tournaments, combat exercises, training courses, custom game nights, community forges, etc. We currently have very few enlisted members, so we are barely considered a clan currently. We will gladly accept new members, provided we see them as beneficial to the clan.

Requirements:

  • Must be aged 13 or over.
  • Must be mature and calm.
  • Must respect higher ranks.
  • Must have a good sense of humour.
  • Can be ANY age, -Yoink!- or nationality, provided they speak at least a little English, for communication purposes. We believe in equal opportunities for all.
  • Can be at any skill level. With training, we’ll help you to improve and support you along the way.
  • Doesn’t need any previous experience with clans, although preferable.
  • MUST NOT be racist, sexist, homophobic or extremist in any way, shape or form.
  • Can be Spartan or Elite.
  • Be able to dedicate at least half an hour every fortnight to the clan.
  • Must be happy to work with ANY weapon given to them without whining or complaining.

Notes:
We understand that you may not have all the free time in the world, and that’s fine. As long as you can dedicate at least half an hour every fortnight to the clan (preferably on parade nights), then that’s all we ask.

Armour:
During combat, training and parades, we ask that you change your armour colours temporarily to Aurora Uniform, which differs depending on your clan role. During leisure, free-time and out-of-clan Halo activities, you may revert to whatever armour colour you wish.

What Will I Do?:
As stated on our website, upon enlistment you will be put through through either basic or Officer training, depending on your application. This can take anywhere from a day to a week to complete for basic training, while Officer training will certainly take at least a week.
Once training is over with, you will be assigned to an airbase. This will be your clan residence, which you will share with a few other members and at least one NCO (non-commissioned officer) and CO (Commanding Officer). While this may seem unimportant, your particular airbase will be where you and the other members assigned to that airbase will be briefed, debriefed, partially trained and taught.
From this point, you may be assigned to Tours of Duty, where you fight to defend clans and allies in Clan Battles, train in combat exercises, where you fight against fellow members in arenas or forged maps, be sent off into Matchmaking Tours, where you, an officer and a few other members head off into Matchmaking and many other things.
Your airbase CO will occasionally brief you and other members on Parade Nights, held every Saturday evening (British time) at 7:00 to 8:30 unless stated otherwise, where you will be informed of upcoming events and take part in them, eg. Grifball Tournaments, custom game nights, etc. This will be your free-time entertainment offered within the clan.
Other leisure activities include training, firing ranges, racecourses and parkour challenges, usually in the same map (so you can choose what you want to do with your friends). These tend to be in an airbase’s leisure area, which spans almost half the base size.
There’s a whole lot of stuff going on, and with a great administrative staff and well-trained officers, we’ll be happy to help with any problems our members have, be them video game related or real-life issues.

–JOBS–

Here are just a handle of the roles available. A full list is under construction and will be viewable on our website once finished, all in it’s 40+ job glory.

CF (Civilian Forger) - You don’t need to be a member of the clan to apply for this role. This is simply if you want to help out the Aurora Clan by building stuff for us. In return, we can help your clan (if you have one) with Clan Wars, help you in multiplayer matchmaking and even offer you some access to our leisure activities.

EF (Enlisted Forger) - A CF with all the benefits of being fully enlisted! Requires basic training, but does not have a fighting role.

Regiment Soldier - An infantryman splits off into several role groups; gunner, light support, sniping specialist and engineer.

Regiment Officer - The soldier who leads the others into battle. Officers split into these Regiment specialisations; gunner, engineer and sniping specialist.

Pilot - All pilots of officers. As an Aurora Pilot, you will be one of the most prided members of the clan, flying Falcons, Hornets, Banshees and other aircraft into battle.

Recruitment Officer - Recruiting new members to the clan, they spend a week with the Recruiting Officer course in AAF (Aurora Air Force) Chickerall, a training course forge camp. There’s a lot to learn for this, but you will be an important part of the clan’s working parts.

–DIVISIONS–

The clan itself is split into a few divisions, each of which specialise in different roles. For example, Army Regiment Soldiers fight normally, Air Force Regiment Soldiers defend aerial vehicles and dominate land for Aurora use in battles and the Navy Regiment Soldiers are the first to go in, providing reconnaissance roles a reporting back from the front line in order to build a detailed picture of the situation to Intelligence Operatives. In short, each division drastically varies a job. The list is;

  • Army
  • Air Force
  • Navy
  • Special Forces*

*not available for application straight away; must’ve been in clan for more than three months to join

–HOW TO ENLIST–

This section is on enlistment.
To put it simply, enlistment is pretty basic. There’s only a few steps between casual Halo player and a member of the Aurora Forces, whichever division you choose.

  1. Contact the Recruiting Officer (in this case, Arkus Eon) over either Xbox LIVE or the Contact Us section of the website to be invited for an Aurora LIVE Party interview. If the latter method of contact is used, please include your Xbox LIVE gamertag. The application process can take a while to complete. This is to ensure that you’re making the right choice, and that you’re the right person for the Aurora. You’ll have several opportunities during the process to assess your needs and decide whether to continue or pull out.
  2. Training depending on your role of choice. You will be taken under the wing of an officer to either AAF Chickerall Training Camp or to the Aurora Training Hall to begin your training, explaining life in the Aurora clan, our goals, a few rules, information about divisions and the many extra leisure activities you can do with the Aurora Clan.
  • Arkus

You will then be given a quick examination of your Designated Marksman Rifle firearm skills, alongside brief initial training with an M9 Magnum before being formally enlisted by the leader of whichever division you chose earlier. You will now have enlisted as a Private in the Aurora Forces.
