I’ve played through both Reach and CE on Pc, and they both work fantastically. However, on start up or during an interruption of game play, the game audio will completely stop. Audio will stop when the program is minimized, which I assume is an intentional design as most other games will do the same. My thoughts are that the game has a variable or function that checks the priority of programs on your computer and if the game isn’t the first on that list, it’ll stop the audio, and when you go back to the program it either doesn’t have enough time to ping the variable, or the function itself doesn’t have a way to tell you went back to the game, and the game still thinks it’s minimized. Not knowing how the engine works entirely I can’t really tell, and it’s a minor bug to be sure, I just thought it’d be helpful to let you know.
Keep up the good work guys, just don’t make another Guardians, please.
Update! All audio will cut out on start up of the game. Nothing I do will fix it, I’ve tried going into the .ini files and changing audioqualitylevel from =0 to =1 and that did nothing. I’ll keep looking on the internet to see if I can find a fix, but in the meantime I’ll leave this up so people can find it and hopefully find a fix themselves.
Ok, so audio will work through my speakers, but not through my headphones. I’ve tested them through a different program and they work when the game is not running, but will completely cut out when the game is on. No audio from any program will work and looking at my sound settings my headphones are my preferred device, I’m gonna keep looking around and testing a bunch of different bug fixes, but as of now the game is being a pain in the -Yoink-.
FIX FOUND, so my headset has two different device names lets say, one for full audio and one for microphone with audio. Disabling the headset in the input settings completely fixed the problem. I have no idea why this works, it could be that the game is trying to play audio through my microphone and give me a headache. If you’re having this problem go into your sound settings and see if disabling your headset mic will fix the problem. Don’t ask me how this works, I’m a game dev and even I don’t know why this is a thing.
Everyone screen cap this before mods remove it again, they’re removing everything related to the audo fix

I think that is is not related to the known audio issue, but rather the behavior of certain audio devices such as bluetooth headphones which can mute the app if the mic is recording for some reason. Not sure why this is happening, but I do not think that it is related to MCC.

Yes it is, my headphones work on every other game, app, or video but wont work specifically when i play MCC? That isnt a coincidence. Especially if many others are experiencing the exact same thing.
Issue has been fixed.
See above.
