Audio Issues with new Wireless headset

I just recently bought a new pair of headphones because my old ones an Xbox gaming stereo headset broke on me. The new headphones are the Xbox Wireless Headphones. At first when I tried them it was with the Game. I started hearing awful distortioned sounds with poor quality. Like a low resolution sound. I thought it was something to do with the Headset itself so I updated the firmware using the Xbox Accessories app. The problem still persist afterwards. I thought the sound quality of the Headphones were complete doo doo water and I just wasted $130 CAD on these but only to realize that when I closed Halo Infinite the sound Quality went from unholy to Godly (Crispy clear). I tried to see if the issue was more of a bandwidth issue with the channels on the Headphones by playing multiple sources of audio by opening multiple music videos. The audio quality is crispy clear with no distortion sounds. It seems only to appear when every time I open Halo Infinite. The sound quality instantly dips to dog water. Anyone having the same issues and is their a fix? It could be that the Headphones could be the problem maybe due to the 16bit 44100Hz CD instead of it being DVD 24Hz. I have no clue.

Hello, I also had a problem and still do but I have 2 fixes for mine. I use a logitech g935, and initially tried the first fix. This is only a fix if you have it on PC:

1.Go to your device manager
2. Under “sound video and game controllers” right click your headset
3. Choose update driver, choose “Browse my computer for drivers”
4.Choose “Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer”
4. Select usb generic audio device and click next
5. Restart your computer, and go to “hardware and sound” from your control panel

  1. Click manage audio devices
  2. Find your device in the “playback” tab
  3. Right click your device, and select “configure speakers” and select the stereo option if its available

If this does not work, you will need to repeat the process up to step 4, and re install your original driver, then re configure your sound like in step 8 and select your 7.1 surround.

If this step did not work, but your headset has a 3.5mm jack used for console audio, you can plug that cable into your pc, and set that device as your default audio.

All of these “fixes” are not exactly the best, as you are missing out on your 7.1 surround, but for now I use it to at least hear the audio in my rear 180 degrees of headspace. I hope this helps! I am not sure if this is a problem on 343’s end, or if it is a dolby problem.
