Audio chat not working for Halo Reach on PC

My audio for the in game team chat, all chat, and squad chat does not seem to work. When I hold down ‘V’ to talk my little blue audio speaker shows up next to my name, but nobody can hear me. I cannot see anyone else’s blue speaker when they are chatting in game. When I play with friends they say that people are talking in team chat, so I join the channel but can’t hear anyone. I can hear in game audio, and my mic works for other in-game chats for steam. Am I missing something?

Agreed. I can’t figure it out either. Same issue. USB microphone

I don’t really have any suggestions, just trying to bump this thread.

I’m a shotcaller and having teammates that can’t hear me and vice versa really takes away from the competitive Halo aspect.

Has anyone had a fix for this issue?

Same prob looking for fix

Also having the same problem lads. Confirmed people can hear me, and i think I can hear people in the countdown before respawn. When alive I hear absolutely nothing.

I never said that responses were guaranteed, I simply pointed people to the correct place to raise a bug about an issue they are having.

HELLO EVERYONE I HAVE A FIX. I DONT KNOW IF IT WILL WORK FOR YOU BUT IT WORKED FOR ME.

You have to make your headset the main communication device. you probably have a secondary audio source like me and just dont know. I hope this works guys!

Yeah I went into my audio settings and hard selected my Yeti as the input and output device rather than Default and it worked. My Yeti is the default and it worked fine for game audio output, but for whatever reason game chat wasn’t being picked up by the input or output. Now they both work, even though Default and the Yeti are the same setting.

I Found 1 Way To Fix It, You have to go in your PC Settings>Sound. Under - Advanced Sound Options----->App Volume And Device Preferences---- Look for HALO MCC and change the INPUT Device-To Your Mic. It should Auto set to default AKA nothing. When you get in-game you have to hold “V” and then it should work! An icon will appear when you start talking. I had to find this out for myself but hey why not help!

Didn’t work for me ^ I’ve been having this issue since day 1, I can hear chat in discord and my game volume is fine, but no voice chat regardless of channel or device defaults etc. Any update on this?

Voice chat was working fine for me until a few days ago, I don’t have any talking icon when I hit my push to talk and I can’t hear anyone in the lobby. Checked my settings and I still my voice chat settings set to all. This is on top of the terrible audio issues.

I tried a lot of these steps listed above specifically the advanced sound settings where you choose your input and output. After doing so however it still was not working. Than I went to my Realtek HD Audio Manager and went to the settings. There were two options for playback device and 2 for recording devices. I selected the bottom check mark for both sections because it makes every input on your computer a separate independent device. I have both speakers and a headset I use plus my monitor itself can play audio so having every jack separated provides easy ability to choose what you want to listen or talk out of.

I had this issue too and was able to fix it when I went into the control panel and set the output sound device as the default device, and I set the input device as the default communication device. Do not go into the new Windows 10 settings app to change the sound settings, go into the good ol control panel instead.
