Attrition - it's good but

i thinkthe revive timer needs just a slight reduction.

Destiny Trials Elimination but with Battle Royale walls, nothing special, but this has to be the worst mode to have bots wasting lives in

I wish I could have really tried Attrition, but I have a double NAT. But what I got to try, it seemed pretty sweaty, it would be good for ranked and social.

Needs a Extra Lives counter like Destiny 2 does with its mode

Also Behemoth for this mode just doesn’t work

It needs per player lives, not shared lives, like Destiny Elimination, so I don’t have bots and bad players wasting all the lives running out by themselves to get killed where we can’t revive them. If they use up their lives, rip them. I’m not wasting my lives to run across the map to save them. Should’ve stayed with the squad

I don’t think the mode is good at all. One side dominates and that’s it. By the time you revive someone you are dead, and that is even if you revive them or get the chance to since everyone just camps the revive spots.

As someone said earlier, vehicles in this mode and on some maps are just ridiculous. Too much of an advantage.

Revive time is way too long. The only time I revived someone was with an overshield on. Shorter timer and you should be able to revive at any point to make the game type actually interesting. Give 10 seconds for someone to come in and try and save a team life. Gives people a chance to you know, actually revive someone and not have the match last 2 minutes before having to wait longer to get back into a game.

Idk why I keep playing this game. Put in my money, time and feedback in just to be given lackluster updates and lies. Might just play the campaign coop, if and when it comes out but so close to dumping the multiplayer.

Just the opinion of this long time, frustrated Halo fan.

343 seem scared to make anything innovative in case they do another halo 4/reach/5 disaster. I think they released a game with the bare minimum so they could see everyone’s response and discover a new direction to take the franchise in.

The mode itself is fine, but the nature of it really drives home the general QoL issues that the game suffers. In a game where you have a limited respawn pool, the already hefty gap between movement and accuracy between MkB and controller is just driven home all the more, and further pushing the longstanding outcry for an input filter. It’s another gametype that exposes the need for certain maps to have vehicles removed completely and certain weapons to be dropped from rotation. The issues with desync coupled with the revive mechanic make the outstanding issue an even greater pain in the dangly-bits, and not the fun kind.

It has potential to be a lot of fun but 343i needs to iron out Infinites prevalent issues before just going the “new/shuffled” game mode route. Infinite is losing people more due to playability issues than a lack of variety.

So we can go from a competitive sweat-fest to a lane-camping competitive sweat-fest? I’d disagree.

I’d say too slow to even be considered practical.

Having an AI in any of the Slayer type modes is crippling. You’re guaranteed a loss at their current AI level for matchmaking. Wondering if it would help at all to at least scale the AI depending on SBMM level. Tier the lobbies out where the bots will scale with the players maybe. Even then, idk.

I agree. These events should not force players into certain game modes. I do not like Attrition personally because of my play style, and because of that, I’m sure there are plenty of my team mates that would rather I not be playing Attrition, but here we are, both not happy about the situation.

Netcode issues and desync really hurt this game type as well.

Yeah we don’t need BR starts on this either.

I agree revive is very slow but the 3 revives challenge is for Elimination game type not attrition.

The other thing is why do they have to introduce new modes via events? are they using us as test subjects???

Attrition is a lot of fun but definitely needs some adjusting. From the few games I played last night I’d like to see the following changes,

-Power weapons need ammo halfed. Similar to ranked. Which ever team gets them the round is basically theirs.

-Reduce revive time or at least allow the player reviving to move around a little while channeling. Standing still for 3 secs is basically a free kill against competent players.

-Allow revived players to move immediately after being brought back or make them invincible for a half sec. Nothing worse then being brought back with a grenade at your feet.

-This porbably can be said for all game modes. Just remove bots at this point no one wants them on their team. I’d honestly rather play a man down.

Other than that I really enjoy this game mode!

If they wanted to get more mileage out of the content they would probably be better off releasing the events and new game modes separately.

…What kind of BR matches do you play? lol

Every Halo game and gametype with BR starts since Halo 2 introduced the thing.

Then you’re either not very good at them or playing them wrong. BR matches properly played are anything but pokey.

Yeah, “no true Scotsman” arguments have never held any weight in these discussions. BR starts, their negative impact on the sandbox and as such gameplay in this franchise have been discussed to death for more than a decade. There is a reason you typically only see them in limited games modes that require a singular, distilled metric to measure player skill for competition purposes.

If you really think giving everyone the ability to trade shots at distance in a mode that punishes deaths WON’T slow down the pace you’re lying to yourself. That 343i actually designed the mode with a shrinking perimeter shows their cognizant of this being an issue even without BR starts.

That was a LOT of words but I’m gonna’ be real, it didn’t mean anything. You clearly aren’t familiar with it.
