That’s what made it great, you could play 8-10 games an hour instead of 3-4
What they need to do is have the match composer style system MCC has and just organize the modes like that game has. In MCC we have have Auto Slayer, BR Slayer, Zone Modes, Asset Denial Modes, Bomb and CTF, SWAT, Snipers, Action Sack (Fiesta should be in here with it being a weekly rotational like MCC) and the weekly rotational playlist. Obviously they don’t need to be 100% like MCC as there will be different modes in Infinite so they could tweak it a bit but this I think would help satisfy a lot of people, like even Cod has a system like this.
Unbelievable? Nah, more like expected… from a developer like 343.
I’m following at least 3 halo twitter accounts + @Unyshek twitter, and still they don’t post info on any of them but on some other twitter…
You’d think they’d publish info that they’ll bring Attrition back, just in more regular form, on main twitter account, or maybe even in some kind of attached post? Or ingame announcement?
I think 343 has a bit of a problem of communicating what they are and will do (just like in recent pinned post on the forum they forgot to mention that they’re working on desync and other buggy features, but you could find it digging through tweeter feeds of various 343 staff members…)
If it was ranked, it can be more intense. And if the circle actually moved in faster, it could actually be noticeable and relevant.
It should be brought back as a permanent ranked game mode.
When I logged on and seen that Fiesta was back I was pretty disappointed.
im sure when its an off time from the fractures the default list will have it. Maybe added to quick play later.
That will be even worse than what we have now, what if someone just wants to play Slayer? They can’t, they are sucked into a playlist full of other modes
Playlists should simply be what Splitgate does, you have all of the gamemodes laid out for you, you can choose what modes you want to search for, press search and boom. The game isn’t “littered” with playlists, it simply allows players to search for what they want
Both Unyshek and ske7ch retweeted it. I first saw it on Unyshek’s account.
I never said anything about slayer being in that playlist, I said the complete opposite regarding slayer
I agree 10000%, but they currently don’t, so I was saying what they should/could/might do in the meantime
One problem that isn’t discussed enough is that there is a feeling that you get nothing for playing “social” playlists, other than weekly challenges which were mostly coming from the Event. Even if they added Attrition, it wouldn’t be “popular” because everyone would be focused on completing weeklies and Event all dang week.
I misread your post, my bad
we can start shuffling in and out modes later. Right now the game needs content badly and has the population to support a large variety of playlists. Halo usually has a lot to pick from, Infinite is the outlier here.
Hell look at the wealth of options in MCC’s match composer. Imagine that variety with this game’s larger population.
i just think its funny they didnt learn a thing from fiesta. then again they didnt learn with the store either
If they keep adding PLAYLISTS, they will be diluted. I never said anything about attrition being cut, I said to add it to a new playlist to keep variety of MODES but not dilute PLAYLISTS in the future.
This is exactly it, if it was a match composer set up then yes throw in every gametype you can think of but they’ve gone down the playlist route.
They can’t add too many playlists because it then becomes diluted and they throw together anyone from anywhere and the desync/lag/ping issues become more of a problem not to mention all the reasons they gave themselves about too many playlists.
If there’s a match composer the dilution wouldn’t be a problem because if there’s not enough people choosing attrition then it’ll give a different gametype before matching with someone on the other side of the planet.
But we currently don’t have that set up so what I mentioned above would be a way to make all future event modes available for the future without dilution.
If I had a choice though - match composer all the way!
Point for Discussion: You seem to have some criteria for permanent playlists as something that has been around in Halo for a while. While I agree with that point, and I do agree that we can’t have 10,000 different playlists either, what exactly marks the cut-off between ‘Keep it permanently" and "only do 1-2 weeks’?
I completely agree with you here, admittedly I’m biased because fiesta is my go to not care playlist when I’m sick of ranked. Ranked is so broken that I barely play it so I play a lot of fiesta.
As above, this is the reason the ideal solution is a match composer, keeping everyone happy for their guilty pleasures.
However with the set up they have (playlists), we can’t keep adding to it.
Now I admit, with examples such as H5 bringing in Breakout, obviously that needed its own playlist. So why is infinite bringing in attrition any different? Well the answer is, they are going to keep bringing in more and more for events, and if different people like all the different events and they keep adding them as playlists, it will get ridiculous, so starting now with attrition would set a precedent that they’ll struggle to stop.
PLEASE REALISE, I WANT ATTRITION TO STAY, and I want more and more modes adding but I can see now what will happen if this is done by separate playlists.
So, quick fix - make a combined playlist for all future modes that have similar appeal (separate action sack for the wacky things).
Long term and ideal fix - match composer
Again, the absolute and simple solution to all of this is a match composer. The content they could create would be huge and keep players with all types of interest in the game long term.
Oh? Must be a twitter problem then, I need to check my settings again…
Action Sack type rotations are normal. It’s when they rotate out core modes like BTB, FFA, Infection, any core Objective mode, then we’ll have a serious problem.
They should also look into getting that customs and custom games browser up, so we can still play the modes that were rotated out, you know, like any other Halo game.
I don’t disagree here, I would have loved to see Attrition move to the Quick Play / Bot Playlist.
Maybe even try a Ranked Version just to keep it not even fresh, just inviting…
