Attrition is the s***!! Had an epic round last night where circle fully closed at end game in a 1v1 situation on behemoth. I was bottom mid and he was top mid. Once the circle fully closed I made the first move to get a tiny bit of damage in so he would die first (that was my plan anyway). Jumped from bottom platform to a ledge next to one of the repulsor spawns, LAND THE HEADSHOT, and clutched the game. Incredible. I reaaaallly hope you guys make this a ranked playlist. The ranked ruleset would fit this game mode so well, me and my squad would probably play it more than regular ranked, honestly! (despite what most of these blowhards say… don’t make a ranked slayer playlist. That will destroy every other ranked playlist. (as one of you has previously opined) Flesh out casual slayer for those that want that). My 1 humble suggestion for when you (hopefully) inevitably run QA testing for a ranked attrition… try it with 12 lives in the pool instead of 8. I know there’s a potential for rounds to snowball, but if the teams are balanced there’s also the possibility that there are multiple lead changes. JUST IMAGINE how tense it would be watching the HCS teams trade leads in attrition…
Other feedback:
-Behemoth, at least with the casual rule set, does not serve this game mode well. A good sniper with that many sight lines can bulldoze the game. Vehicles are a little OP for an elimination game type, also. I know my epic play was on behemoth… but that was a one off instance. Most games played on behemoth are not competitive. (Can we take it out of ranked while were at? There are three responses when that map loads up: This maps ok, I hate this map, or quit)
-I know a ranked ruleset would solve this, but having 4 rockets as opposed to 2 when the life pool is only 8 makes some games uncompetitive. One solution might be to limit power weapon spawn to cindershot. The same issue exists with the grav hammer on recharge.
-UI for scoring could be cleaned up. Its difficult to tell who is still alive with just a passing glance at the teammate status markers. Additionally, with the light UI colors it is hard to read how many lives are left in the pool as the number is on the colored bar. (the same issue exists in any game mode that has a colored bar indicator) My color choices are Mint for teammates and pineapple for enemies, for reference. One solution might be to put a black outline around the number. If that is too jarring of a change for your aesthetic, my other suggestion would be to move the number just to the right or left of the bar so that the white font doesn’t have to contrast against a light color. Any additional time spent looking at the UI is less time I can spend shooty shooty bang bang.
If anyone from 343 took the time to read this it is much appreciated. I know I aint s***… but my momma always taught me to bring solutions with me, not problems.
Love the game. Love the transparency. Love the community outreach.
Oh btw, ranked attrition playlist. Top of my wish list. Oh s***, I said that already…
