Why do you not go for powerups/power weapons at the start of the game? I mean, it even says in the intro “control power weapons to win”. So, where do you run off to in each map because I don’t have the time to watch your back when I rush to the power weapons/power ups.

Why do you not control power weapon spawns? There’s a timer on it. Do you expect someone else to go get it? I love it when the timer is at 10 seconds left, and 4 players on the other team has every corner covered at the spawn. And my team starts nading them after they grab it, that’s smart.
I agree. But sometimes 343 pushes Halo’s balanced tradition too far.
People just want to chill, not go full tryhard in every game

Then they should play social or griffball or warzone

YES.
It’s fine to chill, but there’s a difference between “chilling” and being “braindead”
It’s dumb how I get paired up with 3 people who want to chill and the other team has 4 players who all aren’t.

- Warzone is slowly turning into competitive because of the Achilles armor
- Grifball is far from being equivalent to a slayer match
- The only “social” available is BTB, which some might not like having 8 v 8. Even that has competitive teams at times
- Social Slayer is even competitive since teams of tryhards enter it to score easy kills
Overall, there is no “true Social Slayer” in Halo 5.

I understand that, but if you dont feel like giving 100% to try and win, or just want to “chill and not go full try hard” as you say, you should at least join a playlist that won’t affect someone else’s rank because of your own unwillingness to win.

What about those who want to play Arena/Slayer, but also want to play social? Should they just not play because 343i hasn’t realized that they should have social playlists?
If you’re going to go into a ranked playlist without a full team, you can’t expect every player to understand what you want them to do.

I agree my friend 100% social slayer should be completely unranked 4v4, not 5v5 with hidden ranks. As for right now though, this is what we have and joining a ranked playlist and not even trying is not right, it ruins the expierience for others. There may be a guy on your team that needs 1 more W to get from gold 6 to platinum and you just took it away from him, is that right? I agree if you are playing solo you cannot expect your team to coordinate like a party would but, you should expect them to be at least somewhat compotent. I was playing assault the other day and there were three enemy players inside our base arming I killed one and damaged the other two before I died. While I was waiting to respawn, I watched two team mates spawn directly outside the base and instead of engaging the enemies that were arming they decided to rush forward into the middle of the map. For what purpose Idk, they could have cleaned up the two kills and prevented the score AND been almost back to their base with the ball by the time they respawned. Its this kind of ignorance and refusal to even think for a moment about what you should be doing, instead of literally doing the exact opposite which drives me nuts.
What if I don’t want the weapon because I’m bad at using it, and know that I’ll probably accidentally hand it to the enemy team? What if I’m waiting for a nearby teammate to pick it up because of that reason?

This. I suck with a lot of power weapons (mainly the Sniper) so I’m gonna leave it to a teammate that may know what they’re doing with it.

I used to suck with the sniper and railgun but it’s better to pick it up if you are in a position to do so. If for no other reason than to keep it away from an enemy. Take it back to your base and exchange it for something else, or if it’s not slayer, take it and jump off the map anything is better than just leaving it on the pad for the other team lol

If you are not confident with power weapons, you will not go for them because you think other people might be better than you with them.
If you go for a power-weapon, you instantly become a priority target for the enemy. This could be a strategic move by some players because you will know exactly where the enemy is after that weapon disappears.

Then back us up? Or grab it and give it to us?
As long as the other team doesn’t have it, they are at a disadvantage. Hell, you’re even better off grabbing it and jumping off the map than letting the other team get it.
I swear. People just don’t understand.

Son of a scud missile. This spartan has the right idea.

Yeah, the only real way to play slayer or team arena is with a team of 4 now! Even with good coms and 3 or all 4 players being medium to higher skill you often get trashed by a team of 4 working their way to onyx. Can get very sweaty and to play with randoms just gets to frustraiting.
Seriously, why play halo and not communicate!

That’s how I see it.
If you suck with rockets and no teammates are near you, grab it and jump off the map.
-1 kill point is better than the other team getting a possible 4 points.

I did that before because a guy was just destroying with the sniper, so I grabbed the next one that spawned and jumped before I died so his team couldn’t have it after that we made a quick comeback and won

Lol my company is a company of my friends in real life that play halo, thats why. Otherwise, I invite random who played well after a game.
