BTB and forge for example…they didn’t create that stuff after launch. Some of their community updates even stated how they had been working on the fan made BTB forge maps in the summer before launch, yet neither forge nor BTB were in the game at launch. All games are doing it. SWBF was advertising Jaku dlc as the game launched. Why wasn’t it included if it was ready? To sell season passes of course. I get that games can’t cost $60 forever. Maybe they need different sources of revenue, but what 343 is doing here is over the top deceptive. Don’t sell a season pass and then exclude content 3 months after launch.

Just as an RTS HW2 released with more content than the average. And you really suspect that 343/CA had Kinsano, Colony, Johnson locked up unreleased? don’t waste my time.

Why shouldn’t it have released with all content? You do realize there was a time when you bought a game and got the full game right? Do you think that all the H5 content released after launch was actually developed after launch? If they could develop that much in 6 months then why did we get so little in the base game that took 3 years to develop? I don’t blame them for holding back, but this whole situation was deceptive. How many of these people who bought season passes will be buying a season pass for 343’s next game? I think it’s a terrible marketing move.

This is the HW2 forum not H5, I can’t speak for what happens to H5 as I don’t play that game, uninstalled it a week after I bought it.

And to answer your question: “Why shouldn’t it have released with all content?” because it wasn’t developed yet.

It was free, but certain players got early access to it. I don’t remember the details, but there was no reason to exclude it from the base game other than to milk more cash (or maybe incentivize preorders).

You said double and what still stands?

I sit here in awe, amazed at how 343i screws over their player base. Unbelievable.

7 total each valued at $6

The ultimate edition was $20 more then the standard, for that $20 you get;

  • Halo Wars: definitive addition
  • 7 new leaders
  • UNSC mini campaign expansion
  • Extra Blitz packs

Lol, 2 campaign missions.

Because they technically said “missions” when selling you the season pass, and 2 is technically multiple.

Maybe I’m just spoiled, but when I purchase a season pass I kind of expect to get all of the DLC for the game.

When Bethesda developed their season pass they didn’t expect to add as much content as they did, but I still ended up getting all of the DLC for the original season pass price.

The fact that they added as many leaders as they or the fact that they added more into the expansion than originally intended is largely irrelevant when we had information prior to the game’s launch for us to make up our minds on spending the extra money. I’m a massive Halo fan, but I can certainly see this impacting my future purchases with 343.

If it weren’t for the fact that I got the DLC basically free (HW Definitive Edition), then I’d probably be making a massive stink.

Bunch of babies. You got your $20 worth. The campaign is boring anyways. The game doesn’t even need it. It’s a PvP game.

Some of you expect way too much for $20. Don’t buy the pass then. You got wars de. Who cares you say… well why the f did you buy the pass then. It was explained well right there that was a major part of it and worth the 20 alone. Regardless of all the leaders and the extra couple missions.

whats the point of buying season pass if there going to make stand alone Dlcs to sqeeze us of extra cash that beats the purpose of having a season pass even tho im excited for the flood coming i will not be buying it to make a fool of after buying the season pass

A Season Pass isn’t a get all DLC free pass. The only time thats true is if it is state to be for all DLC. HW2 SP never stated that.
“Grow your war chest with the Halo Wars 2 Season Pass. The Season Pass delivers regular updates that span more than six months, including: New Leaders with abilities that change the course of multiplayer matches, new Units that add to your multiplayer arsenal, new Blitz cards to collect and take into battle, and new campaign missions that expand the Halo Wars 2 story.”
Nowhere does it stated that this would be getting you all the DLC. It also don’t state that you would get a full second campaign and a firefight mode. You guys remember Halo 3 ODST. What was in that I wonder? Oh a Full Campaign and a Firefight mode… How much did that Cost? 40$ And guess what, it was made that same way this Expansion is being made. Yet it wasn’t covered by the Halo 3’s Season Pass either.

ODST came out 2 years after Halo 3. Don’t think that this holds up for comparison.

Brutes who entered Flood infested structure -> 343
Flood -> Angry fans

Plenty of Games have had DLC 2 years in. Not that my comparison has anything to do with that. My point was that there’s no actual difference in overall Content, ODST just came on a Disk and wasn’t called an expansion to Halo 3.

Six leaders that cost $5 each already makes the season pass and Ultimate Edition a huge bargain deal but we’re still getting two more campaign missions.

We know more about this expansion than something announced and teased to be coming for season pass holders months again.

Well said man. 100% agree

So because 343 arbitrarily told me a leader was worth 6 dollars I’m supposed to believe I got my money’s worth? Yea. No. People kinda expected to get maps and campaign missions too which is what the season pass originally said it was going to provide.

actually it never said maps because those are going to be free anyway, and are dropping around the same time as the expansion. Also the UNSC campaign expansion included in the season pass is dropping soonish.

Halo 3 didn’t have a season pass genius. They weren’t popularized until Rockstar did it for LA Noire.

Also when only 2 other season passes in the history of history have not provided all the DLC, it’s an expectation that you’ll get all the content, especially when 343 never came out and told us directly it wouldn’t.

Basically going to turn my investment into double means more or less, not exactly. Please learn to read. What also still stands is that we’re getting premium content held out of the season pass for $20 when 343 is pushing microtransactions in this game still so not only are they getting the money from season pass holders they get the money from the people feeding them for Blitz Packs yet this DLC is not included in the Season Pass and is $20

How you think that won’t leave a sour taste in people’s mouth. Just wow.
