We all do. But aside no Flood Faction and no observer/theater mode I would say HW2 is a finished game. What aspects do you consider HW2 missed at launch?
My beef is that I bought the season pass so that I would be guaranteed all the DLC. Paying up front, so I wouldn’t get nickle-and-dimed later on. But here it is anyway.
You know it’s skeezy because the wording on the season pass was changed after the fact.
The whole point of season passes is so that you are given full access to all content released. When was this ever not the case with a season pass?
While the price for the amount of content may or may not be reasonable, it’s the way that all this has been undertaken that leaves me miffed. It appears to be very underhanded.

im conflicted
i really want the dlc but think that i should have gotten it with the season pass and im not willing to pirate it, no dev deserves that.

What was it missing at launch? Everything that has been released since launch. 343 tried to hold back content at launch and sell a season pass then trickle out the remainder of the actual game as dlc. All developers seem to be doing it. EA was advertising DLC for SWBF before the game even launched. H5 had tons of content held back and trickled out in “free updates”. That’s all fine and dandy, although it’s greedy to sell the season passes when it’s mostly held back content. 343 has taken it to a new level though by excluding some new content from the season pass. The only way to fight the trend of developers releasing half a game and charging for a season pass PLUS charging for “expansion” packs is just say no. Don’t buy it. No preorders, no season passes, no req packs, no expansion packs. Don’t buy it.
I’m glad that I’m going to pay $20 to support a game I enjoy. The reality is that this game didn’t sell well because it’s so obscure. It’s a console exclusive, a console RTS, and the only thing really selling it is the HALO name, which doesn’t hold as much weight as it once did. The season pass was pretty up front too. It slated it’s end date after a few months. It promised new leaders and campaign missions. If I’m not mistaken the new DLC picks up after the season pass ends.
I don’t feel cheated and I’m happy that the devs are keeping the game alive with new content instead of jumping ship. $20 is a tank of gas for me, so I’ll happily spend that.
Now if y’all wanna look at how much EA and Activision are making their DLC cost it might humble ya.
For me this is the straw that breaks the camel’s back, I’m sick and tired of 343i treating us like ATM’s there are better games out there for me to play.
I might pop on every now and then but as far as I’m concerned, for now 343 will get no more money from me. Also I will only buy standard edition games from them, fool me once shame on you 343i.

Ok, do you have any evidence to support that claim?
See when I make up stuff like that out of my -Yoink- I always start out by stating I’m speculating.

I’m not advocating piracy lol I hate that, but I just won’t support the practice. It’s easier for me since I’ve barely played Halo Wars 2 anyway.
As other commenters have said, you can argue the semantics of a season pass all you want, but there aren’t many cases I can think of where games had more major DLC released outside the pass. Destiny is the first that springs to mind, and as soon as I saw that DLC plan I knew I wasn’t touching the game again until I knew all the DLC was released. Evolve had multiple passes, and that game tanked horribly. Sniper Elite 3’s ‘Ultimate Edition’ didn’t include one of the DLCs, though I believe it was originally a pre-order bonus.
I don’t think it’s crazy for people to be buying ‘Ultimate Editions’ with the expectation they’ll get everything. Personally I’d say the ultimate edition was worth it solely for the fact it had Halo Wars 1 included with it. I couldn’t care less about the bonus leaders.
I’m sure the DLC will have achievements, and since I’m obsessed, I’ll probably pick up the DLC once it’s on sale for 50%.

Too bad if I buy a Season Pass from EA and Activision I’ll actually get more content for my money and I’ll get all the DLC for the game (excluding Destiny.)
I already paid what $20-$30 extra for the ultimate edition preorder I’m not basically gonna make my investment turn into double the games cost because 343 is just deciding to cut this out of the season pass.
Sorry some people have expectations and don’t like having their trust abused, especially when we’ve been patient with 343 for years now.

Take it further. Only buy used copies. Deny them any revenue at all.

You think that after spending years in development, a developer can whip out new content, play test it, and get it out to you in a month or two after launch? They did the same thing with H5. BTB and forge for example…they didn’t create that stuff after launch. Some of their community updates even stated how they had been working on the fan made BTB forge maps in the summer before launch, yet neither forge nor BTB were in the game at launch. All games are doing it. SWBF was advertising Jaku dlc as the game launched. Why wasn’t it included if it was ready? To sell season passes of course. I get that games can’t cost $60 forever. Maybe they need different sources of revenue, but what 343 is doing here is over the top deceptive. Don’t sell a season pass and then exclude content 3 months after launch.

The “DLC Leaders” pill is still hard to swallow. I really was not aware of this. I can tell you that if I was, I wouldn’t be playing the game now.
And the campaign just doesn’t feel right. Especially the ending, and the mere fact that there’s no Banished campaign.

You realize games are not finished the same day they release right? That’s why there’s a term called “Going Gold”.
Do you actually believe that the game should have been released with all the content we have right now? You sure sound like a tin foil hat aficionado, no offense, a lot of people are like that.
Just for reference, HW1 released with: Campaign, 6 Leaders, A Multiplayer Mode. HW2 released with: Campaign, 7 Leaders, 4 different Multiplayer Modes including Blitz and Firefight. Just as an RTS HW2 released with more content than the average. And you really suspect that 343/CA had Kinsano, Colony, Johnson locked up unreleased? don’t waste my time.

If I can play Devil’s advocate here Sergeant Forge and any ore order bonus is a perfect example since they are held back to incentivize you to purchase the game early even though he was done when the game was.

We had I think the same amount of missions, with more Cutscene time. I can agree with the Banished campaign though, not going to be stubborn. But I disagree in that it doesn’t feel right, I thought the campaign was awesome, it had some of the best moments in Halo history, the fact the it didn’t “end the fight” gives way to new an exciting characters (that hopefully won’t be killed and disposed of in upcoming comic books).

I’ll hit you with some simple math here buddy,
Season Pass: $20
ATN DLC: $20
That equals $40 and base HW2 is $60. $40<$60. All the DLC combined is still cheaper than the base game. Also NOWHERE in the season pass did it this DLC was included. You’re not being misguided by the season pass. You’ll get your leaders, campaign arc, and blitz packs as promised. What you won’t get is ATN because it was never included. This DLC was never slated to be in season pass if their ideal launch time was Fall 2017. The season pass ends after 6 months aka end of summer 2017. ATN is most likely the endgame/second phase for HW2.

Well Seargent Johnson was free, he was developed in between gold status and release, totally plausible. This doesn’t suggest it might have been locked content.

Did I say double no I said almost double and season passes lasting half a year because 343 says it will. Pinch me will you fanboys ever stop defending this company…it still stands as well that they’re pulling this with the season pass when microtransactions are oresent and pushed.
